Got my Shambs Tickets, and a rank endorphin high.... :)
The website was down for the first half hour but a few people snuck in and got the first tier....thought I did too, but by the time I finished filling out the sales form they had sold out, so I snapped up the 2nd tier.
Anybody here manage to be one of the lucky first few?
Hollar if you're coming ...

Re: CPU Bogging down despite trying EVERYTHING
No, it's not going to be like buying a new computer or anything....
Honestly, if I were you I'd grab Malwarebytes, do a quick scan...just to make sure. You'd be surprised how often you'll find something. Gotta rule everything out.

Running two anti-viruses at the same time is never a good idea for anything. Two AV's will tend to conflict with eachother, a lot. Avast isn't terrible, but the lightest weight AntiVirus on PC is Microsoft's own Security Essentials. Get it, and ditch the other two you're using.

Re: Decent laptop's for producing
I just had to go through this myself, and I went PC for a number of reasons:
Windows 7 is pretty freaking stable, on par with OSX, and even more secure (especially with MSE as your Anti-Virus...free and super efficient). Apple has let security lag behind recently... (Apple failed hard in the hack ...

Why does everyone bum Skrillex so much?
Damn stop pussyfooting around this, people are so scared to just say it...
The majority of them already had his posters in their bedrooms prior to him cashing in on dubstep.
So bloody true. There's so many things about this guys music that are stuck at ...

Re: Youngest producer on DSF?
I'm 24.
I feel like I got a late start as far as producing goes, having only started in November, but I've always been very musical, and an info-junkie, so I feel like I'm catching up.

I'm just waiting to hear if it's stereo in/out for the filter. If so I'm getting one, that filter sounds like sex. I got the monotron for the filter, but it is only mono....

Re: Suitable Soundcard
I've got the MAUDIO Audiophile Delta 192. It's about 150-200 dollars, has MIDI, Monitor outs, Stereo 1/4" jacks in/out, all on a super convenient breakaway cable so it's easier to move your computer when you need to. All in all I'm very happy with it, the sound quality is superb...Sound on Sound ...

Haha yeah my fuckup. I did mean board, but people seem opposed. Fair enough, if it's not broken don't fix it. It was just an idea.

Re: DSF needs a Sound Design board (not thread).
then what purpose would the production board serve? what piece of x gear should i buy and mixing questions?
actually making tunes instead of noises ;-)
Thank you.
Sound design threads tend to clutter up the production forum, and Sound design is such a large part of production that I think it ...

Re: DSF needs a Sound Design board (not thread).
I think it would end up being full of unanswered threads
In the KVR one, some threads are answered quicker than others...and fewer not at all. But with all the interesting discussions that start in the good threads it's completely worth it. I'm sure it'll be moderated. I'd offer to step up to ...

DSF needs a Sound Design board (not thread).
KVR has one, it's pretty useful actually. I know we have some more specific sound design threads in the bible, but we don't have a board where people can start new threads asking for suggestions on how to synthesize particular sounds. It would be much better this way, no clutter in one long thread ...

Welcome to the board...I should mention that you should post this in the Dubs/Works in Progress section, no one here appreciates feedback threads in the Production forum - technical stuff only please.

Many DAW builder use ASUS, I always have whenever I made my own PC too.
I have an i7 custom build from Inta Audio awaiting to be put into service.
And my now 6 y.o. ASUS motherboarded machine which works perfect every day still.

I strongly suggest not skimping on ...

Fact of the matter is a lot of us did make it a long way without help, and for me personally, why I help people on here with simple entry level questions, as those are the most difficult times.
But you can spoil people by providing too much information. You have to want to do this, and you have to ...
