its not all about the 'filth' for me anymore, maybe cause now I know how easy it is to make generic filthy noises in NI Massive.
for me now its more about the actual rhythm and writing of the wobbles as opposed to 'cram as many different distored Massive noises into 8 bars as you can possibly fit ...

Re: Innovating your sound
now don't get me wrong i like a lot of there songs but you could make a sound and just go from there and just change up the drums everytime just rinse out the same synth patches. i am waiting to do that aha will be a lot easier making songs and people will know that is my track as well.

Re: Compression in "I need a doctor" by Dr Dre, why so heavy
It's simple really. Dre is from the old school where producers used to compress each sound individually to achieve a better overall sound. Dre's record is halfway between old school (the beat is more historical Dre than most he does these days) and new school (especially the sung vocal, which was ...

immediate hateful responses aside, I like this noise too and thought I would help you out.
considering I hear Massives Crude osc in doctor P's tunes I assume he used NI massive for that noise.

Re: How to add atmosphere to a track?
Tons of white noise sweeps. Like, little sweeps every other bar, average sweeps ever 4, big sweeps every 8, giant sweeps every 16. Turn it down so low its almost negligible.
YES. I love doing this except I use vengeance crash cymbals of different lengths. You wouldn't believe how much it ...

i hope tracks that sound like Mr. Brown/Bassnectar/that kinda thing will be the next big thing. if not I will do my best to make it the next big thing.

what waveforms did you use in albino, been after a coki-esque sound for a while
considering Coki uses Reason you should probably try that (subtractor specifically)

heres the closest I could get to Lucifer at least cause its a really simple bass sound ...

how to make this sound in "who run it"?
the sound that first appears at 0:29, on the second snare in the drop, kinda sounds like ey-ey-ey-ey-ey-ey
I think it has something to do with ring modulation (or maybe bitcrushing?)
any suggestions?

just looked at that track in traktor 2, wow i wonder if that was an accident or not? sometimes I look at the waveforms of my tunes and bits get dc offset sometimes and its not intentional, maybe the game over sample itself is just dc offset for some reason and they dropped it in without knowing

um look for the funtcase masterclass video and he explains an eq setting which he puts on the master that makes reason sound better.

Re: Do you like making drops 4 or 6 16bar sections?
do whatever works best for you or the particular song you are working on. try 6 sections, and ask for feedback if people think it needs more variation or should be shortened. or if you got a sick drop that you think should be played for longer, then do it, just make sure you add in some variation ...

Do you like making drops 4 or 6 16bar sections?
After spending time counting the sections of various tunes I noticed that most dubstep drops use sections that are pairs of 8 bars
(as in 8 bars of one bit, then 8 bars of that bit repeated with some subtle variations)
every 16 bars there is usually a more major change and I notice that most tunes ...
