More like little collages of sound that don't outstay their welcome.
Mattron who always posts in The SNH springs to mind.
That's a good observation. I may try and do a 2 minute track just to see how it goes.

Re: Is it possible to overuse samples?
i didn't know I could take out the drum sounds out of the sample. That's perfect. beats the heck out of using the sample normally.

Re: Is it possible to overuse samples?
Just tweak them about and make them your own, then everyone won't mind at all.
(Or notice, unless they are really hating at that moment in time.)
Unless you make the entire tune out of the samples without much change and then people are going to notice mate.
Good luck, must hear what you create ...

Is it possible to overuse samples?
I bought a bunch of primeloops/loopmasters packs and really like some of the drum loops. I wanted to make a tune using some of the drum loops and then coming in with a bassline of my own. If I add some of the FX, that won't be overdoing it I hope?

How DO YOU produce your music?
I personally use Ableton Suite 8.2.
I haven't been doing this for long, but my method has been to create a sample for each part (whether it be bassline, drums, etc...) and once I have them all hit record on the APC 20 and just play it through.
What is your method?

Re: what exactly is "brostep"
Brosteps wobbles are in the low-mid range generally done with multiple Saw oscillators and heavy work on the LFO rate, like you hear from the likes of Excision, Datsik and so forth.. Real puke enducers..

I have been hearing dubstep and brostep both being used separately. It seems like brostep has lots of wobbles?

There is only what works for you and what doesn't.
Try the search functions if you want to see people's opinion - these questions are asked all the time.
Best way is to try both and find out.
will do!

Re: Is it better to draw in notes, or play them while record
would you say drums should be made before bassline/synth? Or the other way around?

Is it better to draw in notes, or play them while recording?
I personally try to play something I like first, (If I can even find anything good) then draw it in and make changes as I feel necessary.
Is that the best method?
