Re: Outbound - Never Learned (Vocal / Free Download)

I really like the track, the quality overall sounds great and it's nicely composed.

I notice on your page you use Klein & Hummel O300's, would you recommend those for purchase for a mastering studio? I'd like to get more into mastering as well and am looking to gauge the budget, thanks!

If you ...

Re: OneKnobEffects! (proposed project)

what if you wanted to keep the ratio down whilst turning the threshold up?
You'd have to compromise or use a different compressor. :P
As for the compressor, maybe you could one for each specific purpose, for ex. hard knee compression to make your drums sound punchy, gentle compression for ...

I like it! Especially the way your intro leads into the climax is done very well.

Maybe you could give some feedback on mine?

Re: Skeeter - Ka Boom (Heavy,Crunchy, Feedback please)

I like the bass sound!

I feel it could do with some more momentum, and probably some more sounds in the higher range to compliment your bass, something like melody, SFX, I hear you're already doing some of it with the "Boom" vocal which works well, maybe that'll make your track sound even better ...

I really like the relaxed vibe on this one, and the ambient reverb sounds good too.

Mind giving me some feedback too?

Re: Absynth 5

I frequently go back to it, it is very easy to make unique sounds with the included FX and mutation setting.

What I'd suggest is that you lookup some YouTube videos on Absynth, NI usually has pretty good videos on their products showcasing features.
Also, the included manual (which too many people ...

Re: Is everyone cut out for music?

Haha, Madeon is 16 and he's already better than Deadmau5 (in my eyes). I know comparing doesn't help, but it's almost like a milestone and realization.

There's a lot of luck and variables involved into developing your skills.

It really depends on when the opportunity arises for you, you're ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@weedcali, pretty dark stuff! I like it, the first synth sounds very ambient and it suits the track well. As for ideas, I can't give you any solid ones, but I do feel that you can do more with that climax part, maybe adding another go of it with some variations should give you a nice track duration ...

Re: Should I buy a studio mixer?

Or you could buy a strong audio interface instead, with good AD/DA converters, take the whole mixer out of the equation unless you really feel the need for one.

yeah I don't know firsthand but have been told that unless you go all out and buy a $3000 converter the extra AD/DA layer will make the ...
