Re: My first dub

Could you provide an example maybe? I want to hear something that a FL Wizard has done. Thanks! (no sarcasm)

Re: My first dub

Apparently I upset some people. I was just trying to offer advice, and see many "first dub" posts get ignored. I may be an amateur but I was just trying to shed some insight on what I went though. I personally did not have good results with Fruity Loops, and for me it seemed easier to visu...

New WIP, Need Advice Plz Listen.

I really loved this track when I first started building it. I was just playing piano and came up with the melody. As I work on it more and more i'm beginning to hate it. This is only my second dubstep track i've attempted, please don't destroy me for trying to use brutal electro. Any honest tips wou...

Re: My first dub

I would personally suggest getting a different digital audio workstation. I've heard of people getting decent results in FL before, but it's pretty rare and usually requires some expensive VST plugins. What are you controlling your synth oscillation with? the Sytrus Plug-in VST is pretty commonly us...

Re: Nasty Robrostep Stomper

I like your LFO Rhythms. Very nice work. Very big bass. Some pads or leads wouldn't hurt though. Wasn't really feeling the sampling however. Keep up the good work!

Re: That Ghetto Blastr

I liked it. Very nice tones. Only suggestion would be bring the hats up a bit, but then again I listened through my macbook pro's speakers so that may be a contributing factor. Will check it out again later once i'm at home. Keep up the good work.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011

listening on headphones. @jamiecyper, liking that intro, that sticky ride seems to be abit samey, any velocity diffrences bettwen the hits? , not to keen on the basslead ,bit do like the ghosty pads that creep in, sounds good on the headphones as they make good use of the free high freq space avail...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011

@Barbearik - At first listen the progression of the bass line once it drops felt confusing and went in weird directions, I guess it was probably me not being used to hearing a key change to minor on top of the synth string lead playing in major. After listening to the entire track it grew on me. I ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011

@Jakedubber: Really really hard to make any sense of. Decent sounds but still, i'd suggest some more coherent lines for your bass and possibly some better use of syncopation. @barbearik: Left you a soundcloud comment cause I wanted to point out a very specific part of your riff. Love the general ide...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JANUARY, 2011

@nnny: Loving the piano, but I just feel like those chords are begging for a melody on top of them. Personally I would use another piano track and play it on the upper register. Also, maybe tone down the snare a bit? It seems a tad bassey. Really like the driving, mellow feel on this one. @jamiecyp...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JANUARY, 2011

Hi, I'm new to the whole dubstep production scene. I've been a musician for my entire life, play 5 instruments, and I often feel that I overvalue cool composition over general feel of song, so i'm here for some constructive criticism. http://soundcloud.com/jamiecypher/clown-on-her I think this track...
