Soundcard Detection Issue
So I'm in the process of building a new computer. I got everything working right except that for some reason my soundcard isn't getting detected, at all. It's an EMU 1212m PCIe, which from what I've read so far does have quirks with getting set up, but no one has had a problem with it not getting ...

Re: [production bible 2] MIDI Controllers
Anyone used an Akai MPK61? Haven't found a whole lot of reviews out there. I'm looking for something with 16 pads and more than 25 keys if someone has an alternative suggestion.

Re: Bill Hicks samples
Bill Hicks is great but.... thats sample has been used several times so....
I'm not using the LSD bit, only a short sweet "It's just a ride" sample (or something of that nature) :W:
If you like Hicks, check out Doug Stanhope ;-)
FUCK DUDE!!! I was just gonna say this exact thing. And no one ...

Bill Hicks samples
Recently I discovered a mix by Glitchy & Scratchy called The Weather Report that intros with Bill Hicks' Positive LSD Story bit (check it here: http://soundcloud.com/glitchyscratchy/the-weather-report-new ) and since then I've fallen in love with everything to do with this guy. Long story short, I ...

Re: Weed And Producing
I haven't been messing with production for very long, but I definitely work better toasted. I can do everything just fine sober, but when I'm high I'm a lot pickier about sound quality and samples and I can really focus on shaping each sound just right, even if it takes FOREVER.

Re: The Reason Q&A Thread
One more question, how can I trigger a .wav file? I thought the NN-XT or NN-19 would do it but I guess not. Do I need to have another DAW like Record or FL? Could I resample it, and if so how?
open up NN-XT and its programmer, initialize patch, in the middle there should be an empty blue box ...

Bouncing Bassline
I'd really like to know how to achieve a midrange bass sound similar to Cookie Monsta-Frontline and Excision & Datsik-Deviance (right after it goes "check this out"), could someone enlighten me on how to start creating this? I don't want a step-by-step tutorial, just a jumping point or maybe some of ...

I'm a PC guy all the way, for whatever reason Macs piss me off to no end. Looks like the Acer Aspire 5745 is probably what I'll go with, thanks everyone!

Budget Production Laptop
So I've been shopping around for a laptop for my (very) slim budget and tight workspace. All I know so far is that I need at least 4gb RAM, an Intel processor, and the model shouldn't be more than a few years old. I'm using an Audiotrak Maya 44 as the audio interface and Reason 5. What other ...
