Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Yeah, I really just can't figure this one out! I go back and forth. Now with vst support, I'm so close... just that pdc... I really want to know when ni is going to figure that one out. I've been in fl w/o pdc for a long time, and I'm just done with that business. i feel your pain dude...i was a hu...

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
I'm a visual person, I can get into monitor lock and just start writing stale shit. But when I'm really just hearing what I'm doing, I'm way more groovy, everything just flows. My personal liability, but it is the way I am. I think I'll give maschine a try, after all. If I don't like it, I'll sell ...

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Am saving up the income from my blog to buy one. About a quarter of the way there. I might bitch out and pick up razor though, so we'll see. In terms of ableton, the only thing it offers is more hardware workflow with vst extensibility. Live plus an mpd can go a long way, or live plus a padkontrol ...

Re: In the beginning..Remember?
I don't think I really focused on one thing when I was starting out... Like I don't remember being like, "This song is going to have a really nice use of a compressor and that is it" For better or worse I don't think I started focusing on certain parts of my production until much later wh...

Re: KOAN sound/Culprates Immaculate Bass Sounds
i might be wrong, but from alot of cuplrate tunes it sounds as if hes big into granular synthesis and is layering granular samples on top of his bass sounds for the extra movement

Re: Panning
i think panning is something that should be used little and carefully, it generally works well with synth sequences or pads when youre building atmosphere, as mentioned above, its useful to give room, but if not sparingly then i always think pan can compromise clarity, since its easy to loose a rhy...

Re: Finding the pitch of a resampled sound?
Im pretty sure your on FL, so do this: Load the sampe up in Edison, click the on regions, and select "detect pitch regions". It will now show you the pitch of the sample. Set the root note to whatever pitch it was in, and its fixed :D ^this. or you can link your sample to a mixer channel,...

Re: RESAMPLE BASS LINES
dubstep is lacking a live element ... traditional dub music is mixed live to a 2 track. dude you keep saying dub as if DUBSTEP IS DUB...NO IT IS NOTTT!!!! yes dubstep has some influences from dub but you need to stop talking about the two genres as if it is one! and besides that Dub was popular in ...

@fragments sounds nice and clean man i like the intro :W: , i would definitly change that snare thought, it sounds a bit too muddy for my likeing. im diggin the vibe tho, maybe make a little louder as well? ;-) @hudson awesome atmosphere :D ! the break down at 1:49 just totally did it :h: ! that lit...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@sifty i really like the intro vibe :4: , melody is nice (maybe switch it up just a bit) the hi hat shuffle gives it a real nice feeling, maybe try adding sound effects and atmosphere to the intro. other then that i defo would kick backs and smoke a blunt to this tune :6: @hoborg nice dude!!! defini...
