Can you explain the difference between Distance and brostep?
I can admit that I know nothing about the nuances of producing music. That's why I've always been a little confused why people dislike many U.S artists even though many sound like Distance to my ears. Examples are Excision, Datsik and Dowlink. Is it simply because his sound is much heavier, or does ...

Ways to discover more music.
Most of the new dubstep albums and songs I find come from last.fm or youtube channels. I want to know how you guys find new songs. It's always a treat to find little gems like this.

Dubstep with actual instruments in it
Recently I have discovered this artist named Squarepusher. I really like his stuff; he is an artist that doesn't limit himself to one particular type of music, and he manages to do all of his attempts at different genres well (to my ears.) One thing about him that stood out to me in particular is ...

Re: Why do people hate Skrillex, but not Noisia?
Yeah a lot of people don't hate excision, saying everyone hates north American music just because of where it's from is really stupid... bad correlation. I remember circa '06 there was quite a lot of decent music from there...

Going back to the OP, where you said that Excision gets hate, I've never understood why a forum that seems to love Distance hates on him. I mean...

Re: Why has dubstep became my guilty pleasure?
Yeah, it's almost the same with me except when I say Kenzo or Kahn, they give me a blank look. Then I show them some of their stuff and they say "Yeah, that stuff's dope, I wouldn't go to one of their shows, but it's dope." ...fair enough *shrug*

Re: Phrase I'm not familiar with
What I've never understood is... why can't people get a straight answer here? I understand this may be common knowledge to some people, but come on. Answering a question isn't that hard. From what I understood, this was a place for people who love bass music to help each other out and discuss the ...

Its got a little of that late era funk that got a little to disco. like i said pure ...

You all don't know me, and I don't know all of you but I would just like to say thank you to the people who contribute music to this thread. Re: it's finally happened then.
If we're not careful dubstep can become the next "core", you know like "grindcore", and "deathcore". Soon we'll have "dubstep", "brostep", "wubstep" and eventually "DISESTABLISHMENTARIANISMstep". Such is the evolution of a music genre.
stepstep is the next it thing
