Re: You have questions about studio monitors?
Hey, so I have some Yorkville YSM1P's that I absolutely love. I also have a random polk audio sub that i had from an 90's home theater that I threw into the mix to have that kick punch and the bass boom. I know that the sub isn't a monitor but it'll do for now. My tweeter on the yorkies is spotty ...

Re: My songs sound like shit in my car
maybe you've compressed too much on the master channel...thats a good way of getting rid of the kick with a lot of subbass going on.
try eqing the hit of the kick on the sub bass channel with a tight Q? I mean you shouldn't have to do that if you've got the subbass side chained on the kick.

I mean if there's a genre that would be squashed it would definitely be whatever you'd classify knife party as. You know what album is really over compressed tho, Porter Robinsons Spitfire EP. its almost unlistenable

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
I actually feel the other way about the intro. don't like it. the build up and drop is cool, maybe you should throw some reverb or chorus on the growls in the intro making a little less harsh so that when it hits at the drop its something you've never felt before...yah know?

I feel like I have no problem writing drops. But, I suck at writing songs -- what do you think? I'd love to collab with someone who has the opposite problem.

I like recording in dark areas. HAHA not because its depressing, but because in my opinion you hear better in dimly lit places.

Re: clint beastwood (dubstep)-Dak0
yeah i agree, the basses are kinda sound a little thin. are you mixing on headphones maybe? try bouncing your song and listening to it in a different set of speakers, stereo, car...etc. try warming everything up a little. love the song though. good job.

Re: Feedback needed for new track, thanks :D
I can definitely hear the flux in this track, and its super awesome. probably because of the higher pitched wobbles at the drop, either way sounds awesome. I'm digging the buildup, interesting choice of snare where i would have expected kicks at those peaks. overall great song man good job.
