Re: Warning: Not for purists.
FL Studio is a DAW. But I think that because most of the people who use it are complete noobs that it is frowned upon by more experienced electronic musicians. I started out in FL...that's how most people start out these. It's just one of those things you eventually grow out of because there are so ...

Ah yeah I see what you mean. I intended to do that man, it's an F that bends down to the root note Eb. I guess I didn't make it clear it enough?
Lovin Electric Forest btw, that shit's epic. :4:
Thanks man. I think the modulation in your track is cool, if you like it then keep it, its your track ...

Re: Warning: Not for purists.
I commented on your soundcloud, check it out. You start out in C minor, but then your wobbles are in Eb minor, then you go back into the C minor Skrillexy part after those Eb wobbles...and it just doesn't quite fit IMO

the drums sound better, but I think the synth you are using is just really noisy and messy. I would just reprogram that main synth to be less hissy

What bitcrushers do you recommend for a MAC cause I just got this thing and I'm more familiar with windows vstsSLASH wrote:change up that main synth to something grittier or run it thru a bitchrusher and some distortion, other than that it sounds legit. drum pattern is dope, melody is right, nice work.

Re: EPIC TURTLE MUSIC +new WIP
Hey man, thanks for the reply on my track. I'm away from my good speakers right now...all I'm using at the moment are laptop speakers, but I will say that I think the main bass riff needs a little more movement. Either a pulsating lfo on the cutoff freq. or something else to keep it from just ...

Re: I fixed the FUCKER momentum going
hmm ok, Ill break out adobe audition and use the scientific filter to just target the subs and then make a separate stereo mix of the wobbles. Great Idea. I just have to do it once the songs composed! AHH more production more more more never enough

Re: NEW EPIC TRACK for feedback!!
Flat as in it doesn't cut through.
I generally have a top kick with a trebly snap and a low end kick sample layered. But yeah, I use sidechaining quite heavily. Quite a fast release and very fast attack to just punch it through.
It does come down to preference in the end.
Yeah I know what you ...

Re: Skets on Ket
I think its good, maybe a little clipping going on here and there. Also, the subbass seems to be a little too low for my subs to hear it, I might bring some of those bass notes up an octave so they sound through...you don't want them to be below 30hz cause they you are just going into rumble ...

Re: I fixed the FUCKER momentum going
I'm saying to split up the subbass and the wobbles to two different tracks, so you can sidechain only the subbass. That way it makes it easier to manage all the frequencies of your wobbles etc.

Re: NEW EPIC TRACK for feedback!!
Kick's a little bit flat under that huge synth. A quick ducking sidechained compressor would make it pop. The drum sounds are very good, just a little overwhelmed.
But the track is lovely. Man, I'm keeping an ear out for you. You have a good ear for it.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. By flat do ...

Re: Warning: Not for purists.
I think you have some really good ideas in here, one thing I will note is that your wobbles are in a different key from your melodic skrillexy part...maybe try and get those in the same key. Also, that kick needs to punch more on the lows, and so does the subbass, try and bring those up a bit.

Re: I fixed the FUCKER momentum going
In cubase you should be able to put a compressor on the subbass track (just the bass, not the wobbles) and then sidechain it to the kick, so when the kick thumps, it compresses that bass track just a tad to let the lows from the kick punch through. I'm not very familiar with cubase so I don't know ...
