k, but what about that synth sound you load up that is naturally full of low end (<200hz)...do you cut that out? make it mono? leave it alone?
what i'm saying basically is that there are tons of other sounds besides the kick/sub in any given ...

Re: Narrowing your sub bass range ...imaging methods?
Hope this helped you out a bit man.
Very helpful, actually, thanks. It shows me that my methods aren't too far off from most others.
Also, I agree that if you solo your final mix in the low end and hear just your kick/sub, you're spot on! :W: It should sound like when you're standing outside ...

Narrowing your sub bass range ...imaging methods?
Hey all, I've got some questions about how you treat the stereo image of your mixes, esp the lower end (around 200hz and less.)
I'm referring to the common technique of centering (or making mono) most frequencies as you go below 200hz...
Now, I've tried centering the "sub range" on all my sounds ...

Re: your favorite synth to create distorted 303 sounds?
Wow, great info guys. Many thanks!
I'll try some more of these soft synths, and who knows... maybe a 303 will be my first hardware purchase!
Thanks again.

your favorite synth to create distorted 303 sounds?
just wondering if anyone has a favorite when it comes to nice, squelchy acid sounds or just hard, driving distorted screeches. i've personally noiticed sylenth1 to be nice but lacks a bit of low end?
dunno, i cant afford to buy one so i figure i'd find a good VST to do the job...

This 90's era acoustic guitar sampled sound....
Go to 0:56 for the sound.

OK, so this sound I'm trying to figure out is used in a lot of old Trance, not dubstep. But anyway, it's this really plucky/high-frequency content acoustic guitar sound that sounds almost like it's MONOphonic because the ...

Can you Sidechain a EQ point?
This idea came to me while thinking of ways to deal with the kick/sub problem. I believe I may have even read about it before...
But anyway, is it possible to have a dip in the EQ on a SUB bass track occur every time a kick drum hits?
I'd imagine I find the frequency where the kick drum resonates ...

100 BPM idea "Dr. Farnsworth"
So I decided to turn the BPM to 105 and create a loop...threw together an intro and here is what i've got so far.
I know the drums build up is terrible, and the quality sucks, but tell me--how is the flow of the wobbles? Any other criticisms?
Your input is greatly appreciated.

thanks so much for the feedback, guys.
@Mexicola
yeah, I have to agree that most of my other tracks are a little too "safe/unoriginal" :/
I've definitely grown a lot since most of the stuff posted there. Looking to find my own style...I know it will take time and hard work but I'm sick of ...

EQ question: Where do I "cut" to remove "mud"?
Hey all. First post here on the forums. Also, I wanna say thanks for all the helpful info I've already found on here. It's priceless.
SO: Forgive me for having very little experience using EQ, but I'm having trouble using the device to help tracks "sit together" and "remove mud."
