Re: Tune IDs (Whats the name of that tune that....)
I'm looking for a tune that has a repeated sound clip of a female saying, "I get a rush." I really cannot remember anything else about the song melody/beat wise. I just remember that repeated clip. Any help appreciated considering the cryptic hints. Thanks

Re: Working with subs
Ok thanks guys. I'm getting some monitors soon in the coming month to add more references. Thoughts on these? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A6 ... PDKIKX0DER
Do you think getting the optional subwoofer would be good?

Re: Working with subs
Sorry, I'll clarify, on re-reading it, it sounds a bit fuzzy. Would I be better off mixing just the sub on the stereo since the headphones can't seem to output the power I need to hear it properly. I would continue to mix the upper frequency stuff on the headphones as that is no problem.

Working with subs
So I mostly work with a pair of studio headphones when producing, and it works fine and has a good freq response 45hz-20khz. I also use a household stereo to reference my work to seeing how it sounds on large speakers. When creating a sub would I be better off using the stereo (which has a subwoof) ...

Kontakt 4 Envelopes
I've been tinkering with using the ahdsr envelop connected to the volume of the amplifier. I can't seem to get something with a decent release. I have my wavecycle on loop until release. Nothing I do keeps it from having a curt end to each note played. Any help appreciated.

Re: Take The Piss thread
My 2p. Sampling is a great skill to have. Hell, you can create some of the most creative sounds by sampling your own self ala bass resampling, etc, etc. I would say greatness comes from a good blend of synthesized sound and sampled (with modification) sounds.

Best of luck to ya mate. I'll be in line to listen to it when you finish it up. Keep us posted on your progress, or if you just need a pick me up when it feels rough

Re: The build up before the drop
Some songs might also sound good picking up right from the get go. I've heard a few tunes that don't have a build up, they just jump into the music. Could be an option, it would just depend on the track itself.

Re: Help in Splitting Frequencies
When bouncing out, is it better to fully export then import back or would opening an audio channel and recording straight to that staying within the project?

Re: Some pointers on initiating production wanted
Being in the same boat essentially ( I've only a few months in) just don't get discouraged when most of the synth work you do sounds like crap, or just not quite what you want. Synthesizing is one of the tougher things to pick up, so have sessions where all you do is work with a synth, save patches ...

Re: Understanding Frequencies. (Low,Mid,Highs.)
Voxengo SPAN is pure win. I set it up as send effect. Makes it soooo easy to reference frequencies from instruments/drums with a quick send, inspect and done. I definitely agree that you should download it. It's free, so no excuses.

Re: Help in Splitting Frequencies
So, in sum, what I do is Synth--->split to three channels each with filters for high, mid, and low--->group bus-->stereo out.
The only thing I don't quite understand at the moment is how a compressor can totally wipe out a frequency range.

Sample Library
So I know how I will be organizing my samples (snares, kicks, hihats, vocals, etc, etc). However, might you folks have any tips as to the method to renaming the samples? Like I have a bunch of samples with mostly coded names ( ekitsd007, rft-007bd) that sort of thing. How do some of you organize the...

Re: Different Parts & Layers Of A Dubstep Song?
Don't be in such a rush to churn out fully fleshed out tracks ready for "da raves mon". Get them going and finish, but know that for a while the songs will be mediocre at best. It is with practice that knowledge comes, as with each time you wrap up a project you have gained experience (lev...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@bRRRz The basslines are pretty cool, but it sounds really empty on the bottom end. Get Fat!!
Add some variety to the drum sequencing, the beat is nice but it gets bland after a while with no variation.

Re: Help in Splitting Frequencies
From reading a lot of the Dubstep Bible material, what you can do with a bassline you've split, is modulate the separate frequencies differently to create different types of movement. Also add in different plug in effects to also differentiate them further. You'll have one sequenced bassline, but in...

Help in Splitting Frequencies
What're are some methods to splitting freqs? I have found for myself, using a send to a blank channel and adding a lowpass/highpass/band pass inserts to that channel. Is that a decent method, or does it kill my sound quality by sending it through more channels? Are there any other techniques availab...

Re: Sub Bass in massive
Oooooh >_> I didn't know the tech behind what a wavetable does. I just knew it changed the sound. So I take it the wavetable gradually changes the waveshape from one to the other depending on where you set the parameter? I thought it output both of the labeled waves. /facepalm I burn with the shame,...
