Re: dark samples

i dont now if u still have 56k in wherever deep africa u from but it takes like under a minute to download a sample pack on my connection

it's ridiculous to suggest that it's easier to go on youtube and look through potentially hundreds of videos than downloading a sample pack or something

Re: dark samples

Honestly its probably easier to just find dark sounds on your own. Sometimes I'll just hop on YouTube and find some good horror movie clips or sci fi clips. Grab the audio from those and change everything to make it unique. Add reverb, or any other effects, maybe even resample. Then boom you just ...

Re: having a life

I think a lot of producers struggle with this problem. In my case...I live with a girlfriend...so this tends to make things a bit tougher. I think of things a bit differently now. My music production is sort of on a time schedule, and it forces me to really get as much as possible done in a specific ...

Re: Mavericks OS audio issues

Quite a few people I know switched to Mavericks already and I haven't heard about this problem.

I'm never that bothered with updates. Half the time it doesn't do shit

That was my problem...hadn't heard anything about all the problems and bugs mavericks could introduce...and being that the ...

Re: Mavericks OS audio issues

I have an older version of logic and use it a lot with rewire. Unfortunately I doubt thats gonna solve the issue as there are many reports of having the same issue with logic. After weeks of research on this issue, I have found that the only solution is a workaround that involves bypassing the macs ...

Re: Mavericks OS audio issues

Also, if anyone has figured out a way around these audio drop outs...please share!!!

Wish I could make music again without audio dropouts ruining my workflow. Its not the duet either, ive tried other usb interfaces with the same problem. =/

Mavericks OS audio issues

Anyone else experienced any audio problems with mavericks on a mbp?

I run ableton through my duet 2 interface...and since switching to mavericks 10.9.2, after 5 minutes or so my audio starts to distort and crackle until finally it just stops working entirely.

Read up on the forums that mavericks ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@clayrocks - Your song sounds very clean. The sub is nice and prominent in the mix, and all your highs and mids seem to float on top of the mix very nicely. I definitely hear a bit of Phaeleh in this and you did a great job on this tune.

@misch - The intro to your song is outstanding. Very ...

Happy to see someone else is into them. I forgot exactly how i stumbled upon the kilimanjaro darkjazz ensemble, but their music blew my mind since the first time I listened. Very interesting stuff!

Re: Why the fuck haven't I learned

Loud ear raping noises happen to the best of us man. Honestly the best tip i read was about adding a keyboard shortcut for your midi panic button. Other than that, id never really recommend turning the resonance on anything to full/high amounts anyways. Maybe its a good idea when messing around with ...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

I've made countless reese basses that im happy with. I seriously have my own library now. However, I have SOOOOO much trouble arranging anything to sound tasteful and not just noisy. Its kinda my biggest problem, ive been producing for 4-5 years probably, yet its really been bugging me that i can ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

Scy7he - I think I may have met you before if i'm not mistaken. Are you from stl? Anyways as far as the song goes, the bassline is pretty catchy, the main tip I could give is to try to compress your kick and snare to make them sit a little higher over the bassline, as they seem to get kinda lost ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@cmgoodman1226 - I really like the overall feel of the track, and I really like the piano sounds you used, it makes the song a lot more chilled out and fits well. Maybe turn the piano down a little bit in the mix though, it seems to drown out all your low end and mids of your bassline. I also like ...

Re: 70 or 140 BPM? how do you start?

I used to produce at 70 bpm, and from personal experience, it just over complicated things. I'd recommend 140 unless you really know what you are doing. I don't really have a legitimate reason why, but all my songs at 140 bpm seem more structured than the ones i made at 70 bpm.

Re: Fuck I'm frustrated w/ my dubstep

I've been producing for a few years now, and sometimes I still get frustrated at my dubstep. Instead of giving up however, just take a little break away from your DAW, and go out and enjoy life. When you aren't producing and doing synthesis, take time to read about new production techniques, and ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@rymebox - I like the song quite a bit and the structuring is done really well. Everything sounds good and if I had to make any suggestions it would be to maybe mix the sub bass a little bit louder underneath all those midrange bass sounds. Other than that, I definitely dig the tune! Nice work man ...
