Tempa T - Next Hype (Ghostlight Remix) [140.1 Dubstep/Grime]
Original Remix: http://soundcloud.com/ghostlightproductions/tempa-t-next-hype-ghostlight First attempt at mixing some grime. I also threw up an instrumental as not all my friends are into grime. Free to download as always and thoughts appreciated. Instrumental: http://soundcloud.com/ghostlightproduc...

Re: Ghostlight - "Juggernaut" Minimal/Dubstep (Also free 320
Wasn't too keen on the opening beat, but the piano you've got is nice, melody develops well. Kick sounds a bit muffled though, like it's lacking some top end prescence to it - got that wet cardboard effect a bit. The snare by contrast has too much top end frequencies and sounds very tinny & wea...

First try at something more minimalistic. Make sure you've got that sub ready. Oh, who am I kidding, this is dubstepforum.
Enjoy guys.

Ghostlight - There Are Other Worlds Than These(90BPM,DnBish)
http://soundcloud.com/ghostlightproductions/go-then-there-are-other-worlds Low BPM (90) progressing into some double timed drum & bass. Started as a hip hop project for a friend. I decided to branch it off into two projects- one suitable for hip hop, and one for my more usual style. Thanks for ...

Re: Ghostlight - We Speak in Color [Chill Dubstep?]
delay and reverb wont save you but they are useful tools. you should definetely layer another snare or and compress and eq them. Haha, it's a start. I'm sure I could find something else. I'm usually working within Massive first and foremost, so a few tweaks in there and I'll have a whole new sound....

Re: Ghostlight - We Speak in Color [Chill Dubstep?]
a bit too elevator music like for me , you have the right idea i think you need a more satisfying chord progression and to edit the synths so they have some edge and weight. Thanks for listening. My friend gave me a few ideas about changing up the strings and synth to make them more interesting. Ad...

Ghostlight - We Speak in Color [Chill Dubstep?]
Hey, a bit about me as it's my first dubstepforum release. A few months ago I came here looking for some midi/usb hardware so I could start producing. I picked up a KeyStation 49-e off of craigslist and went to town in Fruity Loops using NI's Massive VST. For this release I did my own vocals using O...

Producers like Xilent and Gemini?
Absolutely love tracks like Feel Stronger and Choose Me II. Neither produce dubstep in a more usual sense, but I absolutely love how they engineer their mix of vocals and bass. Gemini - Feel Stronger : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BDHjSBi_io&hd=1 Xilent - Choose Me II : http://www.youtube.com...

Re: Tune IDs (Whats the name of that tune that....)
Hey, Earlier this year I saw Excision, Downlink, and Antiserum live in NYC. It was pretty awesome, but I haven't been able to identify one track they put down and it's been bothering me. I was pretty zoned out at the time so I'm not sure who did it, if it was live, or if it was being borrowed from a...

Re: Newb looking for hardware suggestions. Perhaps software,
The guy selling the MPK49 for $250 was pretty bad at organizing a pick up time and it gave me time to sleep on it. I was able to find a M-Audio Keystation 49e for $50 that I'm going to try to pick up instead. Like you guys said, I can always resell it. But at least it's a cheaper way to figure out w...

Re: Newb looking for hardware suggestions. Perhaps software,
IMO, a good midi controller is very necessary. I have the MPK49 and use it all of the time. I know a lot of people here just mouse it, but I would get very bored with that. A controller might be a good start. I'm glad you agree! So your vote's for the MPK49, or is there less expensive hardware that...

Re: Newb looking for hardware suggestions. Perhaps software,
Off topic: but you might want to rethink your production name, because -> http://soundcloud.com/ghostlight Damn. I've been using this nick for a few years now, but I'm sure I could come up with something else. Thanks for the heads up. If you're concerned about buying hardware because you're just ge...

Newb looking for hardware suggestions. Perhaps software, too
Hey, First time posting. I'm incredibly new to dubstep production. I've been messing around with Fruity Loops and Massive using some tutorials, but I'd also like to look into Ableton as I can't seem to import my wobble from Massive to FL successfully. Anyway, I'm digressing already; I'm trying to fi...
