Re: help with sub bass and resampling... stuck.
I mean you when making the bass you can always make a long loop of you going down a scale and then chop it up after you bounce it... or sometimes c2 repeating can work..... You might be suprised how sometimes higher notes can affect the precieved bass note playing. Your could dump the bottom frequen...

Example: http://soundcloud.com/austincurtis/katsa I know it's my own song but I'm at a loss... There is some percussion in there already but thats also pretty much atmo...

Re: 100 BPM (KOAN Sound, Reso) bassline?
Hey everyone(: I've been working on a slow dubstep track with a lot of funk and hip hop elements, such as KOAN Sound does in a lot of their tracks. I've had a lot of ideas go through my head, but I can't really think of what kind of baseline to make for this song. I don't want anything too complext...

Re: sample pack drums vs raw drums
It should be noted you can't polish a turd.... If your acoustic or none EQ'd drum sounds like shit it will prolly come out a bit better but not a lot. Also a compressor is not an insta-drum fix... A compressor can QUICKLY suck the life out of drums if you are using it wrong(squashing your transients...

Re: Wow i'm seriously desperate for help.
The journey is the most important aspect your seem to be missing. The proud feeling you seek will be achieved when you worked your butt off learning. There are people on here who make kick ass songs but you still catch them saying its shit compared to "kryptiorbisomalacokiurial koancisionillex&...

Re: how to clearly define kick, to not sound like house??
No, just..... Kick on 1,2, and 4... snare alone on 3... Leading up to that is a regular kick on each beat like you were doing, but when you incorporate the snare take the kick off the 3rd beat....

Re: how to clearly define kick, to not sound like house??
Well if I am understanding you correctly, you are still doing a Four to the floor beat. In dubstep you generally have a half time beat. Kick on the 1 and a snare on the 3, If your are going for the generic dubstep beat.
