Yeah filtering out excess frequencies help a lot! I don't normally do it with more minimal tunes but when you already have a million and one frequencies coming at you it makes it more manageable. Enveloping helps there too ;)

Tune is alright, I've always loved the sound of house down at 110 bpm, been playing house and trance down there for a while, just did a mix like that. Its just weird to hear that this Moombah is actually a thing, kind of like nudisco was to deep house. Excited to hear more from this!
