Re: Dzanjin - Excessive Force (Tim Ismag-esque/Dark)

The arpeggio's at the end are cool, I agree :)

You should try using some more reverb and high end stuff like crash cymbals or whitenoise downsweeps and stuff, that would fill this out neatly. For the rest fix the levels, and maybe try and find a bit of a less "flabby" kick if you know what I mean ...

Re: Dzanjin - Excessive Force (Tim Ismag-esque/Dark)

Haha I wasn't sitting in front of the speakers, I guess it was me :P
I like the part at 1.20, pretty sounds :D

Haha, you want to know something funny? When I was producing this track I really thought people would dislike that part the most, but instead it seems to be everyone's favorite. :-)

The ...

Re: Dzanjin - Excessive Force (Tim Ismag-esque/Dark)

love the kick. and the very end was down too haha. some of the levels in the first half on some of the wobs and bass hits are either far too high or too soft in comparison to eachother and makes for too abrasive of a mixdown imo

Thanks for the feedback bro!
I agree on the levels. I've been ...

Re: How to search for specific vocals/clips?

http://www.allsubs.org/search-movie-quotes/fish+and+chips/
Check which movies have that quote, then get the movie.

Basically, google for: movie quotes <the vocal you want>

This is basically the method I've been using, just couldn't ever find a site that would search through the quotes like ...

I've looked into freesound but most of the clips I look for I can never find on there.
I would def record them myself if I could.

Any other ideas?

How to search for specific vocals/clips?

I know there are plenty of places on line to find vocal clips and samples, but my question is do you guys have any method of searching for specific quotes or clips?

For example: You want to find a vocal clip that says "fish and chips" with no specific clip in mind. How would you search for it?

The ...

Re: Frabnus Fibblenocker

Hey OnlyBoots,

Not bad at all man. Just a couple thoughts: The whole track sounds really *quiet*. I mean all the sounds are fine, but I think I could get into it a lot more if some of the elements were a little bit louder. It kinda sounds like everything was mixed to be cutoff at a certain level so ...

Dzanjin - Excessive Force (Tim Ismag-esque/Dark)

Hey guys, this song (as with most I work on) ends up getting better as it goes on haha
This is a few months old now (I think my sounds have progressed a lot since) but it's the last song I actually finished and put on soundcloud and wanted some feedback :-)

Let me know what you guys think ...

Re: Floop - Triple Kill (Brostep, I guess) Heavy use of trip

I like the overall track. I started playing piano when I was 6 so I appreciate the piano piece in this. I think the midrange synths are pretty good too, it's a nice catchy lead. Besides some really tiny details the big thing that has been mentioned previously is the loudness of certain elements. For ...

@hutyluty

You realize that you have 2 places for people to vote if they're 18? They could choose 16-18 or choose 18-21......or did I miss something? Didn't know how accurate you wanted your results. Just trying to help! :-) I'm interested to see how the age difference here too.

I'm 23 btw. :6:

Re: Sampling audio from computer

Alright man cool. I did find out how to do it on 1.3. It's real easy but took a long time to find what I was looking for. If you end up using windows again or if anyone else would like to know how to do it just hit me up.

@ehbrums1

Let me guess, you have audacity 1.3?

Audacity did a HUGE upgrade when they went to 1.3 and they changed a lot of options and the gui visuals as well.

@wub

Hey buddy ;-)

This is what his looks like I'm guessing:

Re: Midi Controller 2011

Saw the axiom PRO 25 at my local music shop.....$400! I read up on the diff between that and the 2nd gen axiom and really it boils down to the PRO having "Hypercontrol Technology"....basically showing you real time knob movements on the lcd screen and a lot more auto mapping...
Anyway, I think I'm ...

Re: You guys heard of Tom Cosm?

I haven't watched any of the hour long ones, but he did have a short 10 min vid of some techniques and tips for playing live that I found interesting. He seems to be pretty knowledgeable. I haven't listened to his music other than the intro/outro of the vid and it seems okay. A lot of tribal stuff ...

Re: Midi Controller 2011

Took a look at the Akai and it seems pretty solid.
I think a 49 key would be great, esp. since I started playing piano at a very early age. But how do you guys lug that thing around with you? Haha.
I would love to have 49 keys but I want something very portable I can slip into a backpack or gigbag ...
