I'm just so stuck here I already post...

Stuck on my song
So I'm mainly a hobby producer, I do it whenever I have a spare moment or an urge to make music, problem is, I always seem to get stuck, not just for an hour or so, but for weeks, and after I finally make some progress I get stuck on the next section. This happens to every song I do, what are some t...

Re: How is Seven Lions so smooth??
Again, my comments were not meant to pass judgement over an individual's talents and/or skills, and my apologies if it came across this way. However, it is my opinion that level of success is not a factor in passing comment. Oh no I was thanking you for the technical advice haha, that's exactly wha...

Re: How is Seven Lions so smooth??
Thanks to those who gave advice on the matter! Especially wub, I never really know what I'm doing but I'm sometimes able to take what you say on a thread and practice it to up my understanding of production. I'm just surprised though, everyone I know loves Seven Lions so I'm shocked to see such crit...

How is Seven Lions so smooth??
I've been producing on and off for a while and I can barely say I'm proficient in anything when it comes to production, but I've been listening to Seven Lions a LOT and he just has such a smooth sound, there's just no other word that describes what I feel when I listen to him. Mines, as well as most...

Re: Another free (and pro) Dubstep Sample Pack!
I've been trying to buy it but when I try checking it out and it goes to the Paypal info page, it turns to German and then won't complete it saying it doesn't ship to US. Maybe I'm just being lazy/stupid but is there a way around this?

Music Theory Help
Not sure if this is in a wrong place or if I will automatically be yelled at for asking something like this here but I have done some searching and quite a bit of experimenting, I am admittedly tired but I could not seem to find what I was looking for on google. So basically I was wondering how do y...

Does M-Audio Xponent/Xsession Pro need Torq?
just as the topic says, I am trying to decide on a controller to get, and I was thinking of the Xponent or Xsession Pro, but I've been reading terrible reviews of the Torq 2.0 software, does anyone know anything about any of these topics/ know if those specific controllers need Torq? or would I be j...

Skrillex/Fidget Vocals?
I've been trying to make fidget type vocals like Skrillex, I once heard/read (I forget where it may very well have been in this forum) that he slices the .wav files to MIDI and plays with them in there. I've been messing with that in Ableton and any of you who have tried that will know what a headac...

Re: My transitions are akward and i cant think of an intro
Do you play any other instruments? I had the same problem when I started then I went back to the instruments I used to play for a bit and looked at different music, it definitely helped me get some creativity flowing, plus knowing other instruments and songs just kinda shows you structure since its ...

Re: Turntable Help
Another thought I just had, was that I already have Ableton Live, would it be wrong/unreasonable to think I could just put together mixes on that for Live shows and sit back? (I may get laughed at for this but he is one of my favorite artists from way before electronic music) I was doing some Skril...

Re: Turntable Help
Wow I was not expecting so much feedback thanks guys, I'm still on the fence about it I'm probably not going to buy the cheap pair now, but you guys keep recommending more expensive turntables to a full time student whose still not completely sure if DJing is what he wants to do or if I should just ...

Re: Turntable Help
Thanks for the input so far guys, but that just brings up another question for me now...Are technics that good? $200 for 2 turntables (the Numarks I saw) does sound very tempting, and I am not 100% sure how much I plan to DJ yet.

Is that what a CDJ is? are those frowned upon normally/would it serve the same purpose as a turntable?

Turntable Help
Having never actually touched a turntable I went on craigslist looking for my very own pair, I found 2 Numark CDX turntables for $200 (I think total for both), was wondering if that is a good brand/turntable, I did some research but my current knowledge prevents me from fully understanding most of w...

Re: What is a song construction kit? (Vengeance Sample Packs
To clear my last post up after I looked back at it I'm not bashing the soundpack as a whole, but from my perspective (a relatively inexperienced producer) I find I do not have much opportunity to learn from these song construction kits. I was expecting full songs which I could pick apart to see how ...

Re: Paradigm "Human Error" (Datsik, Metal, Heavy, dark, prog)
Sorry I can't really think of any feedback for your song I'm not really great with the technical side which is all that might be left on this but just wanted to say that this track is SOLID, I was never a huge fan of Datsik but I really liked this.
