Re: Dimension Expander On Sub Bass (Massive)?

i think you guys are all wrong to be honest. I get similar results like this:

double the sound in two, pan one version left, and pan the second one right, while you delay the sound about 10 ms. Also known as the haas effect. It sounds exactly like the dimension expander. Maybe add some reverb ...

Re: 18y/o Dubstep/DnB/Glitch-Hop producer from UK

sound pretty good, the mixdown is good, it does sound like maybe the kick and the mid ranges could both be cut a bit lower, they seem to lack a little bit, maybe the mid ranges could do with a small bit of widening as well. good vocals as well and well put together nice overall arrangement.

Re: Resampling?

to me .... It seems a bit of a pointless waste of time taking a sound effect of a toaster popping up and rasampling it for 5 hours so it sounds like a bassline, when you could just make a bad arse bass patch in massive in about 20 minutes

I am however really interested in chopping up my basslines ...

Re: Resampling?

Once you've bounced out the bassline, chop it up and load it into a sampler. Play some notes on it until you've got a rhythm you like. Adjust the ADSR envelopes. Reverse some of the samples. Add effects. Modulate the arse off of it. Then bounce it out again and repeat the whole process, if you like ...

Re: Resampling?

*queue smartass answer* - your search fu is fail. Look up your daw + resampling. Easy as piss. From there it's a lot of experimentation.

er yeah i know how to resample

i was asking about how to chop up and arrange the basslines, while looping them and reversing them etc.

For example the bass in ...

Resampling?

It seems that for every "how do i make skrillex bass?!?!" thread, there is a smart arse answer.... resampling.

I've been listening to a lot of koan sound lately and have been desperately trying to wrap my head around the techniques they use. I know they are big on resampling and a lot of their ...

I don't understand these topics. What's the point in posting this? Do you want the people on DSF to like you?
I'm glad that you discovered "real dubstep" as you call it. But honestly, you could've enjoyed it without posting this right?

Re: That flange sound?

you need a noise oscilator generating white noise, pretty much any synth can do this, then just route it through a filter (lowpass, hipass, bandpass) with the resonance turned up and rise the frequency
