i would have never discovered Drum and Bass, or any other "Real" dubstep.
for that i am ever thankful to "Brostep"

Cool idea, dubstep in general is very fragmented. I'm forced to used 20 or more blogs/resources to find new music and events. A central hub would be nice.

How much time is wasted arguing over what is or is not dubstep. Too much time is spend defining/defending the genre rather than just appreciating the music.

i dont think commercials are the metric that defines mainstream. I would look at the increase of dubstep events/shows as a better estimate.

Pioneer DJM 250 i would reccommend this all day.

I perfer vinyl, something nostalgic about it. Digital lacks the old school element.

In regard to the sound, I would be hard pressed to notice the differance.

A more accurate title for this thread might be: "what is dubstep to you "

Recently I've been getting a lot of pointless 'feedback' along the lines of "why are you calling this dubstep" and "this isn't really dubstep" it kind of bugs me. Here's a slightly edited ...

sampling music is benifical to the orignal artist, so many remixes have resulted in my purchaing the orignal track. Remixes feed revenue to the orgnial artist.

This is the product of short sightedness on the behalf of the orignal artist

if you like doing it continue, if your chasing the almighty dollar you might be wasting your time.

I can't say i enjoy his style but, I saw him live in Hollywood he is definably innovative i respect that.
