Re: Faux Eden - Mayan Apocalypse [Dubstep/Garage]
wow man i liked it alot but i think the drop is quite messy freq wise. Very cool ideas though and i like the mood and theme of it! The kick sample feels kinda loose and overcompressed.

Re: Darkstep Wobbles and Basses?
I think you mean more of a dungeon/swamp bass. Reese, modulate the FUCK out of it. Be careful when distorting. Multiband distortion is imo the best way to subtly add some grist to it. Ohmicide is great for this.

Re: Best beginner software?
Actually i think all the programs stated are okay. Every program is gonna have a learning curve but i'd choose one that YOU feel comfortable with. Nearly all programs have demos that you can try out.

Re: HOw DOES I mak A GABBER KICKZ?
You can make ur own in Massive by putting a fast envelope to the pitch. Sounds more cool than distorting a 909 imo.

Re: Rekoil/Exude Bass
That's so 2009. Well it sounds very metallic, Im assuming you use Massive, so try using the carbon wavetable and experimenting with the dimension expander for that metallic reverb. Hope that's helpful.Skorpion wrote:Ham VST

Re: adding "grain" and "warmth" to a mix
If you are on ableton the vinyl distortion vst is killer if you're tasteful about it. I can rlly recomend musiccrow preamp emulator, it adds a really nice warmth.

Re: Deep dubstep
For me the dungeon sound is built mainly on the movement. In Massive, automate EVERYTHING, filters, envelopes, waveforms. And dont overdo the distorsion.
The "dungeon sound" growls are basically Reeses slowed down. So watch/read some tutorials on drum and bass reeses also.
