Re: Fed up with older songs/wips

I've deleted countless WIPs and previews off my soundcloud. Whenever I upload a good song, that I know will get a lot of exposure I try to make sure my SC page is as clean and good looking (or sounding for that matter) as possible, to show consistency.

In response to you saying that your WIP you ...

Re: Putting FX on Master Buss (A summary)

I don't put effects on the master bus until I'm at the stage where I've finished my track and need to give it a quick master. Normally it's just a multiband compressor and two EQs with a limiter, but I can't imagine using FX when making the track. I prefer to use an effect rack on a group of ...

Forever at the moment, I've got about 20 32 bar intros that I've created but rarely get past that stage :/

I hope by default stuff, you don't mean Sytrus, 3xOsc etc. They're great synths.

You unfreeze the track, add said effect, then freeze again.

Re: Could someone explain headphone amps to me?

Ok, I'm gonna try answer your question, although I don't know much about headphone amps.

1. Yes, as far as I know. You should be fine with your interface.

2. Not too sure about this one, not gonna try answer it.

3. No, I really doubt it. As far as I know, a headphone amp is to increase a weak ...

Re: What are good sample packs with sweeps?

Seriously learn how to make your own. I'll be honest, I only started making my own FX/risers etc last week. I used to use samples from various sample packs including vengeance only to be disappointed with the sound of them, and I realise you can adjust the sound of a sample quite a lot through use ...

Re: Alltime Favorite VST!

Either Toxic biohazard or sylenth1, I love toxic because of the massive hypersaws and lead sounds you can create. Sylenth is amazing for pluck sounds and stabs.

Re: Sine wave below 100hz?

that sine wave is called you sub bass, which the one you feel hitting you in the chest. you high pass your other basses to make it more clear in the mix, sine actually have no harmonics so your wrong there but you also want to high pass you kick at 100 hz as well and again just to clear up your mix ...

Re: When to step it up

Aside from realising your song structure is crazy, or the mixdown is well off compared to similar music, DJing won't help your production.
You can compare/improve your song structure and compare/improve your mixdowns without owning turntables. If production is your main aim, spend the turntable ...

Re: every track you make

I have about 20 unfinished projects since I moved to FL studio, when I was using Ableton I had even more. I think it's you setting your standards higher which is good. If you know something's not going anywhere then you abandon it. I think it's important to keep whatever you've done though, even if ...

Re: Well. Had my first gig.

Well that's good. I'm getting a lot of good feedback from the people that enjoyed the music (I played a lot of progressive house/electro as well as the mainstream stuff) so Im pretty happy about that.

Sucks seeing shit all people dancing though, there were 40ish people there :/
