Re: FL studio automation
I don't use pattern blocks, shouldn't have said that. I generally have a main pattern, then use the split by channel tool and use the audio clips in the playlist to build my song. Got it working though by doing what both of you said. Cheers for your help.

Re: FL studio automation
Cheers, but would that mean creating duplicates of synths, because that wouldn't be great for cpu. Could you explain exactly how I would do that if possible? Anyone else got any ideas on how I can simply record automation live as the song plays?

FL studio automation
Pretty basic (and embarrassing) question, but something that's been confusing me. Basically i've been trying to record automation live in song mode. I have my basic song minus automation in the playlist, so I want to add automation live as the song is played. So I hit record, then mess with (for exa...

Re: Studio set up question
Ok, thanks mate. How are the rokits and the saffire going for you? The only thing i'm worried about is that the rokit 6's don't go below 48hz or something. But then i've also read that they are a bit too bass heavy?

Studio set up question
I am going to purchase a pair of krk rokit 6's and a focusrite saffire 6 usb audio interface (the general consensus on here appears to be that these are the best for my budget) but I am a bit confused on how to connect the two. If either the rokits or the saffire come with suitable cables, then apol...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Ah yeah, cheers, that's given me some good ideas. I did think the straight 4 beat made it maybe a little too trancy or cheesy at times if you know what i mean.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Alexandercunningham thanks, i'm all ears beacuse it isn't something I would normally produce but I thought the vocal would fit that kind of track perfectly. The more inspiration the better. Your track is sick, love the echoey drum that comes in after the second drop. I think the bassline could do w...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@Reliq Really like that, super dark, you really got the dungeon feel going there. @LukeRaith Really like the House version, sounds really nice and warm. @mattdesl Nice clean top end, production sounds good. Like the synths. Pretty new to producing, so sorry i couldn't give anymore technical advice. ...

Re: Mixdowns for £10 :-) (first 5 get it for £5!)
if I gave you a track to mixdown, would you tell me how it was done, what mistakes I had made, what you corrected, how you did it etc. and just general tips on how to do a better mixdown myself next time? I think that would be really helpful. Otherwise, I would just be having my track mixed down wit...

Re: Can a spectrum analyzer compensate for lack of monitors?
Yeah, forgot to mention using reference tracks. I've found them incredibly useful so far in learning what kind of frequencies the kick and snare for example are hitting in similar tracks to the sound I want to achieve. So it can be done without monitors, with patience. I think i'll try and get my mi...

Can a spectrum analyzer compensate for lack of monitors?
Question in the title basically. Read in breakage's q and a that he didn't have monitors, and just relied on a spectrum analyzer and listening to the track on different systems. This was quite a few years ago, but his tunes still sounded great. So, is this a possible but more time consuming alternat...

Re: fl studio/sylenth1 problem
Polyphony is set to 6, changing it up or down makes no difference. I thought the issue might have been having two instances of sylenth on the same pattern somehow clashing, but deleting either one doesn't solve the problem. Anyone else got any ideas? Thanks so far.

Re: fl studio/sylenth1 problem
Nope afraid that's not it, I did this channel in the step sequencer. Sent to piano roll anyway but none of the notes are turned to slide. I should add that it is random, different notes are missed on each loop. Thanks anyway.

fl studio/sylenth1 problem
Hi, been lurking around these forums for the past couple of months, and although i'm not producing dubstep, it's been a great help. Anyway, i've run into a problem with sylenth in fl studio - when playng a pattern, some notes are randomly missed on the sylenth channel. I've turned off all the effect...
