Re: The dubstep tips super thread
When working with VST's in a modern DAW as long as your master doesn't clip it doesn't really matter if it clips along the way. THERE IS HOWEVER AN EXCEPTION WITH SOME VST EFFECTS. I forgot to add that part. But even then, it's probably too little for a beginner to hear. What's wrong with teaching b...

Re: The dubstep tips super thread
Believe me, I know. But my post is directed at beginners. I never said you just 'slap on' an EQ and compressor. You're twisting my words. I said that a lot of the time, a master will generally have just compression and eq being used nothing else. I'm not a fan of exciters and pultec/tube eq's still ...

Re: The dubstep tips super thread
A lot of bad advice I'm seeing just on the first page alone: 1. Normalization is just moving your master fader up or down. It is useless 2. For the people saying not to use a limiter on your master, that's absolute garbage. Just about every top-40 song in the past 20 years has been mastered with som...

I would recommend 2 samples forward or backward in your daw, or use the 'humanize' function in your midi quantize options.

Re: Should I buy Adam A7x's when my room isn't treated?
To be honest, unless you're planning to get a sub with the a7's, you're better off getting the yamaha's for dubstep since that extra inch of woofer will give you a deeper and more impactful (but NOT hyped) bass. I use the 80's myself and they're great - plus with the money you save you can get some ...

Re: Monitors Crackle With Multiple Tabs Open..
Your question is a bit vague.
Do you mean tabs in your browser?
This basically means your computer is struggling. Usually the CPU is not fast enough or you do not have enough RAM.
You should probably just raise the buffer rate for your device. I'm on PC so I have no idea how to do it on a MAC.

Re: Hooking up mixtrack pro to saffire 6
You can simply use the mixtrack pro as a midi controller with your software of choice (traktor, vdj, whatever).
The focusrite soundcard is going to sound a lot better than the mixtrack pro anyway.

Re: Who has KRKs?
First post here:
Don't get KRK's. They are inaccurate monitors, very hyped in the bass and mids, not good for mixing/mastering. The VXT series are better but still not that great. There are better options from Yamaha and JBL in your price range.
