Re: ableton "midi note gating"
Are you using ableton?, i can think of one way, so you have your synth track with the midi clips and such. Group the instrument in the synth track and create a new chain and insert an another synth and set the amp envelope to instant attack and release, and full sustain. Deactivate this new synth in ...

Re: Assigning decay to hit velocity in Ableton Drum racks?
Your asking if you can control the decay time through velocity information in ableton? No, neither Sampler or Simpler are capable of velocity modulation of decay time. You could however set up an instrument rack within the drumrack creating multiple instances of simpler (or sampler) with the high ...

Re: Oh Mai Gawd Live 9
It seems that Ableton is the new Steinberg - there's a 11 page thread on their forum asking about automation delay compensation which is being totally ignored by Ableton. I was hoping they'd fix it for 9, but it seems that they're ignoring their customers.

Either:
Your kick is interfering with the sub. EQ that, use another sample or sidechain.

Re: Why can't I export a song in the same quality as in the
What is worse about the exported song? is it noisy, are the high frequencies dampened? more details more details. Or you could mess with the export settings for a bit and pinpoint the culprit that way too.

Like i said, all the video did was show 1 new device and 3 updated devices, no new features of the DAW were featured... unfortunately.AxeD wrote:Haven't seen the video, but doesn't sound like it's all that much.

I agree, but they were just outlining some new device changes... I will cry if all they do for a full version upgrade is remake 4 devices lol, I'm interested in the changes made to workflow and GUI enhancements and things like that but this is a welcomed first look and It shows that they are doing ...

Re: Haalp? ..
imo the drums are to low in the mix, i think gain structuring is the problem here. Try pulling down the faders and bring the drums up first. Then bring the synths up and try to balance the two parts Thats just what I would do.

Re: What made you want to produce/make music?
I started after i felt just mixing 2 songs together wasn't enough, and i wanted to try my hand at making the tracks that i loved mixing together. only then i found out how accessible producing really is nowadays, wish i figured that out when I was younger though.
