Yeah the filter really is acting funny in a way that it opens up, closes and does a short opening at the end of an 8 note.
FMMS looks sick man, thanx for that.

Re: My first song Come tell me how shitty it is so I can imp
Great work for your first track! Big ups.
Nice groove, simple but effective melody, also the mixing is quite nice.
Id however choose a heavier kick and snare sample. The kick lacks attack at around 3 khz.
The snare could be layered with a snare sample which has really punchy 200-250 hz.
Keep it up ...

Re: 100% Dumbstep
pretty retarded statement.
Sry i forgot to choose the font for ironic statements :P
i thought the smiley plus the next sentence, wich begins with "no seriously" would make clear that this wasn't to be taken serious.
Of course sidechaining can get you nice effects and can be used really creative ...

Original Basslines
Hi there,
as i am gettin more and more into the "oldschool" sound i realise how important it is to have a moving, interesting bassline.
Many of the newer releases, especially the dungeon sounds are deep and scary but lack original basslines, just 1 note per track, 3 if you are lucky :D

Re: How do I DMZ - Haunted Dub style basslines?
I think this was the closest i could get, because with a higher cutoff it started to sound harsh. but i dont really remember its almost a year ago.
But thats the funny thing about this sound it is rich and full but has a very smooth tone.
I'll give it a try as soon as i am back home, i could imagine ...

in fact, this is so dungeon, i couldnt get past the first level.
Just kiddin man this is sexy, however, some nice ancient choral sounds or any mysterious synth playin some harmonic minor shit would be great on this one

Re: 100% Dumbstep
The bass patches are ok, but try to make it more "musical". I suggest to start with the more oldschool sound, because its easier to mix, and you learn how to make great drum patterns and rhythmical basslines, and not just rely on the filthiness of dem midbass wubz... trust me, because i made the ...

I really love the intro section, great athmosphere and nice build up. I would prefer a "darker" drop though, but thats just me, the whole thing is very consistent and well produced!

Re: Phaeleh's "Afterglow" DUSBTEP REMIX
First of all i have to say that i am not a fan of this kind of "dubstep" but i think there are some disharmonics in there and the midbass doesnt really blend in, they seem to be toooo loud.
Besides from that your idea to make it more "dancable" is quit good, try to get the details right and it will ...

As a metal guitarist, i have to say that..... I LOVE IT!!!
The melodic Organ like sounds give it a really catchy feeling, great mixing with the guitar and midbass

I like to take a reese with a lp filter envelope with slow attack for growls. Then fuck it up with a bandpass/lowpass combined, add a phaser and boozt dem fuckin 2 khz :D dont forget to distort and add your favourite effects ;)
