So I need to own knobs and touchscreens with no other function other than to be used on the Chomp? If i hook up an iPhone does it become a touchscreen where all the buttons become assignable to parameters in my daw?

You take the Chomp, you take any sort of input you want- can be as simple as a knob to as crazy as a touchscreen or sensor- and connect it to the Chomp.
