What this guy said. ill.gates is a genius with ableton. Also, do you work in session view or arrangement view? I've found that unless I'm doing a live performance, session view can be a brick wall when trying to create a song.Insahn wrote:Look up ill.gates as well

I think David learned how to type on an old typewriter, which is why he presses the keys so hard. My dad does the same thing, and it drives me crazy haha.

Re: How do you guys make your womps?
I just started producing about a month ago with ableton, and right now I'm doing LFO modulation with Operator. I was using an auto filter before this, and I notice a big difference in how smooth the wobbles are. Maybe you're just trying to do too much modulation with it?

@Acro I can dig the pulse/rhythym of it, but the siren things just don't fit IMO. But, then again, I'm a more melodic kinda guy.
@mthrfnk Nice stuff man, your drops are put together well, and I really like the sample (this music is just fucking stupid) you used. Catchy bassline, and I've got shit ...

BenJones - Awesome tune, really like the horns. LFO modulation sounds a bit off in parts, but thats more of a personal preference than anything IMO. Good work though man!

Sorry about not leaving feedback earlier guys, didn't even read the first post... Obviously lol. Anyway, here it is now, though my feedback is going to be somewhat limited in substance I think, mainly since I'm so new to the whole production thing... Anyways, here it is:

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
What's up fellow dubsteppas, just dropping in to introduce myself. I'm a wannabe producer/DJ out of Columbia, MO. Been playing guitar for about 3 years now, and recently immersed myself into the world of EDM to broaden my musical tastes. I also enjoy long walks on the beach and cats. Well, I think ...

Here's my first go at a track in ableton... I've only had it for about 2 weeks now. As for the song, I'm not going to have it go "all in" like it is right now, but rather build up to that. Feedback is much appreciated, thanks!
