Re: Hard 'machine gun' basses? how.
this is what I came up with after using tips out of this and some other related threads :t: the bass is a bit to wide for my taste, guess I have to clean it up a bit https://soundcloud.com/dijencedubz/dijence-scanner-ruff-clip WHAAAT! I read this thread but I haven't gotten anything close to this. ...

Re: Hard 'machine gun' basses? how.
My machinegun basses are either filter and/or volume automation with a ramp down lfo, or I just chop midinotes and use a transientshaper + distortion. In the following track the drop contains midinotes playing a synth with a short attack. outside of massive there's just a wow filter https://soundclo...

Re: DUPLOC Bass: Chorus/phaser/flanger/delay-modulated midra
like I said before - you have to search for quality tracks. Of course there's a lot same sounding garbage out there, but also goes for every other hyped music. And yeah this tune sucks, but I've seen it many times: A "popular" producer puts out a free ep with 12 tracks which basically have...

Re: DUPLOC Bass: Chorus/phaser/flanger/delay-modulated midra
I agree that wayyyyyy to many tunes, which go in this AD/Subfiltronik/Monsters direction, often sound alike - but that's the same as with many (subgenres income) dungeon, brostep or tearout producers. Most tracks reffered to as "dungeon" have a twisting reese / neuro-elements and maybe som...

Re: How to get that fat Kromestar/Habstrakt/Widdler saw bass
sounds like a pretty basic reese to me. Look through the sound design forum for the reese bass thread, it'll have more info than u need for this bass! :W: To do the reese you'll need more than one saw oscillator - turn on osc 2 and 3 with a saw and detune them from your osc 1 by +0.25 and -0.25 (pla...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@ Eye-siC You got a great mixdown in this new bit - I love the vibe of the tune! The pads and the arpeggiated synths really make the track sound full! @urbannerd62 I like the bassline on your track anchorz, but I'd switch it up after the first "half" - I'd put faster / shuffled hihats in i...

peaka your replies make me cringe. Please stop trying to be "funny" or you'll most likely never get good advice on your questions in the future.

Re: Nasty Habits During Production?
highpassing kickdrums too high because I'm butthurt that my kicks could interfere with my sub - kicks sound weak
8 bar loops
opening synth, use the same modulation over and over again
use too many effects so that a good bass gets worse and worse

Re: Basslines too weak
fast hi hat patterns, crashes and reverse cymbals do it for me. Drums should be powerful. Also paralleldistortion for your bass and short delays fill up your spectrum - but eqing is important

@ chasewoood: I'd add a seperate sub layer so your drop gets heavier and fuller @ 3d_shades: I like it! good mixdown and a present sub! Here's a new one I'm working on, will release it with some other unheard bits once my fb page reaches 200 likes. Feedback highly appreciated https://soundcloud.com/...

Re: The Sound of Massive
Umm.. really helpfull stuff when you look into what your really working and studying your waves. massive has a sine shaper that really can make your sounds sound metalic if you know how to use it with a phaser or filters, its really nice. also get to learn your routing it comes in handy http://soun...

DUPLOC Bass: Chorus/phaser/flanger/delay-modulated midrange
I used the searchfunction but didn't find anything helpful and since it is not a specific sound but more a specific character I thought it would be helpful for others who stumble upon the same channel like me. First of all, have some sound examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH53U1uH1m8 0:29 mi...
