Re: Brostep - Part Deux!

i sort of think if you feel the need to add the suffix reggae- and call something "reggaestep" you might have missed the point somewhere along the line lol reggae and dub is not the same thing ...taking a traditional reggae song and add a 2step beat doesn't turn it into dubstep if you too...

Re: New respect for 'Brostep'

I guess electro-house/complextro can be called 2-step brostep ;) ...but most dubstep/brostep turned into halfstep (considered "dub" tempo? but kinda nonsense) ...hm, actually it's not really halfstep, it's halftempo, to make any sense.. some messed up definitions, i'm confusing myself.. 2...

Re: New respect for 'Brostep'

What I mean by drum pattern is the 2-step beat that makes dubstep and brostep what it is, that is why they have the word "step" in them. If it's defined by the 2-step beat, then why the need to call it something else? 2-step is 2-step ..no dub involved Just to confuse the brosteppers supe...

Re: Brostep - Part Deux!

(i didn't follow this thread the last 100 pages or so, but.. ehm..) brostep is an offensive term, right? those who like "that style" doesn't like to use that term, and usually get mad.. anyway, this slower style is more obviously "not dubstep", but what is it then? moombahton is ...

Re: Brostep - Part Deux!

spacey echoes are big but i think the most typical dub effect is the effect of using stems from reggae music I just haven't seen any effect-machine with a "reggae effect" button ;) ..anyway i agree that it's some sort of reggae mood too, but it's not as easy to define.. i don't think it's...

Re: Brostep - Part Deux!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvM9Kewf-pA omg, mind blowing "drop" at 2:58 ..it made me think of a re-invented definition of "drop", since it's not a "bass drop", it's a "dub echo drop".. i recently made a dubstep playlist on youtube, describing what the wor...

Re: What's the point of it?

the way you describe the track, while asking about the point, you indirectly say that repetition has no point.. or maybe just that you don't feel anything when listening to that track.. it reminds me of my own "mythical"(?) theory about some types of music listeners, where it seems like th...
