Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
SonnyFnD: the drums sound clean, the basses sound clean, a kind of generic filthy sound& the best work is in the intro in my opinion. eqing is rough. sigmund floyd: clean design, this too has that heavy mid range vibe & the eqing sounds pretty good in the headphones. im feeling the wubs /rh...

Your track kicks ass. Nice everything. All I can say is about the snare. It would be better if it had more punch. The buildup if fucking beautiful.sigmund floyd

I'm currently working on eqing. I know the mixing is bad. :/ Also, I've now done my three feedbacks.

The mixing is brilliant and your drum pattern sounds excellent.Electric_Head wrote:I think it's just people that don't want to give feedback really.

The snares could use some reverb.jeer wrote:http://soundcloud.com/djeer/wip << What are peoples opinion on this thus far? I had an evening cover shift at work and managed to knock that out. The bass note at the end is fluffed and needs to change, but just as an intro - thoughts?

Re: Enchiridion [WIP]
The kick and snare sound really muffled, like some of their more important frequencies have been dropped off? In terms of getting them clearer, for the kick I'd suggest some subtractive EQing on the synths/bass so that when the kick hits, the other elements make room for it at that particular frequ...

I'm in the mixing process. I'm having lots of trouble EQing. I'm super frustrated, but I'm not giving up. Any tips how I could mix this better? I need all the help I can get.

Can there be too many sounds?
Do you think too many bass sounds can kill a song? Should there be a limit?

Re: Resampling and layering samples?
thats all i do to get my crazy modulation in my basses. but the one i layer over is put through alot of effects, so no phasing to worry about. I did it on pretty much all my basses in my newest track in my sig. :t: Holy crap. Didn't know you were on this site. I've had you followed on Soundcloud an...

Resampling and layering samples?
Is it okay to layer a resampled sound over the original synth/bass, or will it sound bad. I guess I could test it. :/

Are you talking about mastering, or mixing here? If actual mastering, well that's an art form in itself and takes just as long as mixing to master, or longer. I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless your goal is to be a mastering engineer. If you're talking mixing down your tracks, it takes a lo...

I'm absolutely terrible at mastering...
I've tried so many tutorials out there, but I can't seem to get anywhere. I spend a shitload of time mastering, but I clip, or it's too quiet, or loud. It just never sounds right. Any tips? Also, I'm an fl user.
