Re: Anyone use Pro Tools to make dub step?

I usually write in Reason but we use Pro Tools in college so the couple of college projects I've had to do this year had to be done purely in Pro Tools. when I make tunes in Pro Tools everything is 100% audio. I do my synth work in Reason or on my alesis micron and just import the results as wav fi...

Re: the classic "take a photo of your setup" thread

Thanks for ur replies.

Yeah I like the idea of not burning CDs all the time. I guess I'll be looking at putting together a sorato or tractor setup. That seems to make the most sense for me at this point. I do not own real decks so I think this would be a good place to start.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

Thanks for the feedback difference.

I think your track has potential. It seems like a solid foundation. It is just screaming to me to get broken up a bit. Has a nice bounce.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@jimbeaux.... nice start to a track. i would say to switch the drum track up a bit for when the bass comes in and starts to modulate. the rest of the production other than the reese sounds quite minimal. so if that was the aim you hit it right on. as far as the sub goes, i agree, that is on my new l...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@ boring... thanks for the feedback. yeah, before you replied to that, that was the feeling i was having too. really, deciding whether to let the buzzy growl melody ride in front or the 'my first wobble' take the lead. well, i backed off the simple wobble and broke it up a bit and shifted it back in...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

ghost- that track was sweet when it dropped. i would continue to revise and tweak the post drop section, but it seems to be headed in the proper direction. I am not a huge fan of the intro. for my tastes i would differ the main riff in the intro a bit. maybe you make it another instrument or synth p...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

electric head- really nice production. the track def has a overall vibe and cohesion, which means you hit the mark. not exactly my taste, but well done none the less. elyhess, something- this is an interesting riff/production. it seems like a real house/dance feel. check the gain structure, things s...

Wow dude. Trolling hard.

And I am new here. Haha

On a side note, I like how they didn't let the track drop. Cause you can't dance to that trash, that's why. Funny shit

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here

Hey everyone. I am a producer with roots in hip hop. I've been getting into the dubstep sound for a few years now, mainly from dj friends who spin edm in Baltimore and York, pa. It's been a few years now, and I have been working on my 'sound'. I work on a pro tools rig, which is quite interesting re...
