Didn't feel like a cohesive album. It felt like I was listening to random tracks from his production folder...

Re: $70 Motion Sensor set to shake things up
It will work on the light just from your monitor...although I can't imagine anyone using this in a club (would be as impractical as using voice commands in a club or as cheesy as using a wiimote)

Re: $70 Motion Sensor set to shake things up
It's not buggy at all. I have the first developers unit and I just received the final dev unit yesterday. They improved the field of view of the device and it's able to track my fingers perfectly...For 70 dollars it's a no-brainer purchase! http://imgur.com/iWUxw9h Here is a demo of a simple example...

Re: Max for Live
I use M4L alot...my current set-up is a main MIDI device which processes MIDI in certain ways that suit me and a polyrhythmic/random beat/sequence generator written in Java used to trigger samples.

Re: Trying to wrap my head around Pure Data
If you are not a programmer or have failed with these things in the past, there is no reason to go the puredata/supercolider route. MaxMSP is much more user-friendly, and given that it integrates with Ableton, it's a good investment to learn that. You can always code in C/Java and import that in Max...

Re: What game are you playing?
Single player games are boring for me now. I play Team Fortress 2 every other day...this consists of me owning people and then taunting like a 15 year old. I'm ~28 and it feels good.

Re: Pitch envelopes on drums for extra punch?
If you are using one sample then doing this can be a good way to add that extra attack/transient. If you are layering be careful because even the tiniest changes in your pitch envelope or amount will change the relationship of that sample to the other layers and it might be easier to just find a kic...

Re: The $150 Drum App for iOS
I still don't get it. Does it use samples or physical modeling/synthesis for the drums? To me the demos just sound like acoustic samples + polyrhythms (some straight, some non-repeating polys).

Of course not. Do they really expect to sell this app with 2 mediocre examples? This developer is delusional.

Re: Mix Advice? How too make it sound like..?
Try this: Put an EQ on the masterbus:
1.5-2db shelf boost below 150Hz, 2db cut at 200 and 500 with Q = 2..see if that makes it a little warmer...
