I came from the "Reason." Daw as well and I'm so glad I moved on!

I felt as if I was in a cult or some shit, trapped inside this little half screen with premade VST's.. not being able to add 3rd party softwares was awful.

Sound design is basically trial & error man.

Save presets, your presets and build from there.

Who makes a better shoe? Nike or Adidas?

Who makes better keyboard? Logitech or SteelSeries?

They all do the same function just in a different manner..

It's not about the DAW it's about the artist.

Experiment. If something sounds right, it's usually right.

It'll just be a lot slower and you'll do 1 and 1.2 instead of 1 and 1.3 so instead of halftime drums..
