Re: Volt - The World's Most Precise Fader
Any comparisons to DAW faders? You say digital faders don't suffice but you lack a demo showing why Volt kicks normal digital faders' asses.I feel like the difference isn't going to be enough to be noticeable.

Re: Renoise - what makes it so special?
I watched a video on youtube on renoise for the first time, and the layout was really alien to me, it looked so mathematical lol

Weird Ableton Live Delay Issue
Audio playback on one of my projects is jacked up.
Earlier I had my friend's USB drive in my computer. I was waiting for everything on it to be deleted (11gb worth, about a for minute wait) while at the same time working on this project in Live. While it was still deleting my friend comes in and ...

Re: Creating Dubstep
When starting out, you're going to think that the music you're making is good. It isn't how you want it to be, but you think it's good. Then a few years down the line you'll listen to what you first made and you'll laugh your ass off at how you ever thought that sounded good.

Re: track limits in fl?
Why do you guys want more than 10 tracks? I'm always happy with 6-8 tracks+2-3aux in Ableton. never understood why people use tons of tracks....
Because not everyone produces the same style. Pretty straightforward. I listened to a few of your tracks and their very minimal, of course YOU don't ...

No big deal. Everyone does it. If it's really unique it helps you establish your sound.

There's some picture floating around of an oscilloscope pics of all of Massive's wave tables. With each "panned" hard left or right, just like mthrfnk posted.

Jeez man, how long does it take for you to EQ something?Untitle wrote:Yeah, when you are in a middle of a producing something, and don't want to spare your time for tweaking the EQ, a sort of a standard drum, vocal, keys, preset will really fasten up your workflow, and wont let you lose the musical idea.

Re: How to make sub-bass more persistent over mid-ranges?
It is a different track, different mixer track as well. I am using headphones, they pickup as low as 20Hz. I can hear it loud and clear when it is solo'd out, but when the mid-range is over it it's barely heard or felt.
What if you deactivate it? How does the track sound? If it sounds like the ...

Re: How to make sub-bass more persistent over mid-ranges?
Is your sub bass a separate track? Is it at least split from your mid-range? This will give you the most control over it.
Also, what are you listening on? Shitty computer speakers, monitors with a subwoofer? Sub bass should be felt, not heard (for the most part).

Re: Moving To L.A, Cali for ICON Collective Production Schoo
A degree/certificate doesn't mean anything in the music business. It's all about who you know.
I'd love to see some of these students' work though. I want to see how much they really learned.

Re: What do you think about presets ?
Only us producers give a shit if someone uses a preset. The vast majority of listeners (95%, probably more) do not care if the music they're listening to is part of a preset. They don't even have any idea how that type of music is made.

Try Massive - pick something like Scrapyard/Crude/Deep Throat etc. on bend +/- mode and a Saw or Square layered an octave underneath. Link an LFO or Macro to the WT pos and intensity of OSC 1, mess with Phase/Position mods too ...
