Re: What made you want to produce/make music?

Produced shitty trance music around 13-14. Quit. (Insert space for 7 years). Friend got me into producing dubstep. Learning and trying to produce now with no results. The end

Re: New to Production

I just haven't updated. Thanks for everyone who helped. I guess no one is going to answer my question. I've read and searched but found nothing on the subject but I guess people just like trolling instead of helping

Re: New to Production

Got it. Thanks. I'm on my phone right now so I'll have to check after work. Thanks though :). I think it's just going to be a lot of practice now. That and messing around with everything to see what sounds good. I have other questions but I suppose I'll read first so as not to annoy the forum I'll a...

Re: New to Production

Awesome. Thank you a lot. I'll mess around with them and see what they do to the sound separately. As for a beat, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'd like to lay out a beat first then put everything onto that. Only thing is, I have no idea about how to make a dubstep beat. The best I can do is a simp...

Re: New to Production

Lol you're just so full of jokes! Thanks! That's actually serious though lol. I guess the sub-bass will make it deeper, but I think it sounds good. Just gotta' figure out what FX to add to the chain now. Limiter? Compression? Distortion? Chorus? Flanger? Filter?

Re: New to Production

If you like the sound roll with it Haha I've read that and just wanted to make sure. Because people may say that but listen to a song and say "that wobble sounds like S!" But if the guy was just making a wobble that sounded good to him then shouldn't it not matter? Hopefully that makes se...

Re: New to Production

Okay cool :D! What about something like Ohmicide or WOW for distortion? EDIT: How will I know when something I have sounds good, lol. I know that may be a subjective question but I really don't know when I've stumbled upon something awesome or not. Here's something I came up with a while ago. I just...

Re: New to Production

Great! Thank you! I'll have to read up on that. In the mean time, let me ask this. Are there certain OSCs that are "most commonly used"? I've been using Modern Talking with very lackluster results. Others I've used are the Additive's, Math ones, Squelchy, Gentle Speech, and Scrap Yard. Is ...

Re: New to Production

Damn I lost the game :(. Thank you very much for your help. I think I can find some stuff on music theory and stuff like that. That should help out a little. And the effects you listed, you mean the ones from Ableton right?

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here

Hi I'm Espirion. I'm a new producer hoping to make something that people can enjoy and download to take with them. I will have a song out hopefully in a couple months if I work really hard. I hope people here can help me with my endeavors and it's good to be here :D Oh and the name doesn't mean anyt...

Re: New to Production

To fix your wobbles you need to go to the global tab, un-check extern sync and set the tempo to the tempo of your daw. The best Massive tip you will get is... Read the manual and Google anything you dont understand. Other than experimentation, analize the music you listen to, your probably doing th...

Re: New to Production

Okay so other than telling me that Massive's videos are garbage, can anyone tell me something useful? Other than synthesizing sounds, which I will look up on, what can I do to make something a little better. Not even something that's super pro or amazing. Just something I can feel good about myself ...

Re: New to Production

1. What are maybe some typical OSC's to use in Massive? 2. How can I fix that damn MIDI Track issue? 3. Tips on what to do next? 4. General Massive Tips? 5. Anything else? search around for how to synthesize sounds instead of how to make make them in massive, you will find tons of threads and books...

New to Production

Hey everyone. So I finally realized I can access the forums lol. I've been messing around with Ableton Live 8.2.2 the last few weeks along with NI Massive. The only thing is...I have a terrible (and I mean absolutely terrible ear for music). I come from absolutely no musical background and know very...
