The funny thing about Massive's modern talking and other vowely WTs is that they're rendered waveshapes that were totally created with FM synthesis.

The Skrillex sound is all FM synthesis and Vocoders. That's all there is to the basics of it.

Yes, sorry. I was referring to "modulation" as "frequency modulation". The matrix determines which OPs FM how much into other OPs and the "MOD" section of the target OP determines the overall FM going into that OP. Then I automate that with X.

Really nice tutorials man. I'm only just starting out with FM synthesis, and I don't really understand what exactly the mod X is modulating in Sytrus. I played around with and apparently it's some instant vowely knob but what is it modulating really? Some kinda filter, distortion, what is it? Anyon...
