Re: That 303/Acid Sound Without using 303's Tip Thread
As far as ableton goes, there's always ck.acid-device. It's not perfect, but it does a pretty good job if you're going to process it anyhow.

3347047836 This is my debut album, and something I've been working on for quite a while. Stylistically, it's a bit all over the place, but that's the way it should be, no? It is name-your-price for your convenience, though I will steal your e-mail and spam it relentlessly with irrelevant informatio...

Re: Site Update Feedback Thread - comments/queries/wishlist
As I can see, current setup of bandcamp tag supports only tracks. To be exact, phpBB replace this: [bandcamp]{NUMBER}[/bandcamp] with this: <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="400" height="100" ><param name="movie" value="...

If people spamming their albums everywhere is the reason for this, perhaps allow it only in the "Music (Tunes and Releases)"-forum.

How in nine bloody hells of Baator does one actually use the [bandcamp] tag? Here's a few examples of ways that do not work. Re: HOW THE HELL DO YOU MAKE THIS SOUND?
But if no one online gets the same sound, why are you asking for it online?mermiadracula wrote:Ok first off, what exactly is a "thread"? And secondly, no one online gets it right at all. I've watched upwards of 30-40 videos. No one can get that same voice. Any other suggestions?

Re: that reverb
Its whats known as a gated reverb. Gates the reverb when anything is playing, reverb not compressed when theres no signal. Very useful for big reverbs on vocals. Sure there will be vsts to do this, or you can route the reverb thru a compressor, sidechained to the 'vocal' (or whatever) Gated Reverb ...

And this thread, ladies and gentlemen, is why you *always* keep a hard limiter at 0db threshold and no gain last on your master channel. Always.

Typical Psytrance sound. A saw wave, or two slightly detuned from each other, ran through a bandpass. Modulate bandpass frequency and the note frequency to opposite directions. Apply distortion/compression/reverb/delays.

Re: Percussive Pluck Synths
I used a single instance of chromaphone, and it was a preset. Percussion -> Multi bongo. But if you load the preset into the chromaphone, you'll hear it sounds completely different from mine. I processed it pretty heavily. I used: EQ -> WaveShaper -> Maximus -> WaveShaper -> Reverb -> Gross Beat ->...

Re: Kick (Layering With Bass)
If it sounds good, do it. This depends a lot on other instruments in the mix. In Drum and Bass, for example, kicks are often highpassed to make room for the deep subs. On House, it works the other way around, with bass being a bit higher and kicks occupying the lowest region. The main thing is to no...

Re: Mac equivalent of Harmor
what Harmor is doing is additive resynthesis, similar to NI's Razor, but with the ability to utilize a shit-ton of partials (harmonics) for the resynthesis process. Alchemy (too few partials, and the "noise" oscillator is a joke) Alchemy has 600 partials per voice. Harmor has 512.

Modulation is power. Power is sex. Create stunning trance gates with the step sequencer, do some giant wobbles with the wobble generator or let all the modulators interact with each other. ...Yes! Have a big gay modulator orgy with every output fucking the shit out of every input until they all scr...
