Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

i want to know how to make this sound please! its right at the begining between 0.01 and 0.03. It might be originally made with an accoustic instrument of some kind but i want to approximate it with a synth. (its not a dubstep track by the way) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNRs0Z61gu4 thanks in ad...

Re: Hard Hitting Basses

In a lot of songs I listen to there are some hard hitting, screaming basses that get the adrenaline going. My question today is how would I go about making these in massive and FL studio? I have gotten some of the basics down on making the basic basses but I can't figure out how to make the hardcor...

Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

Did someone not start a September one? Oh well... Looking for a point in the right direction for this Roksonix bass at 1.09, just after the initial drop... Deffo Massive, but I draw a blank when trying to make these high pitched basses commonly found on Circus... Wuv you long time :-) I think the d...

Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

Looking how to make the two lead sounds used in the drop of this song. The first one has lots of vibrato, and the second might be the same as the first without vibrato I'm not sure. yeah i can do that: NImassive again two oscillators one set to sin-square Wt all the way to the right, one set to squ...

Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

I'm looking to get this subwobble + harmonic sound from this tune : Tyke - Infected Headphones It's the sound at 1:27. Cheers! Me too! Any idea? Seems like a pretty 'simple' jungle technique but i cant get my head around it! if its the sound i'm thinking of then i think i can do it in massive. thre...

Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

ok so basically i want to know how artists like ital tek get that low passed yet bright and wide/lush sound...ive tried low passing and eq but they seems to loose their width even tho i duplicate and all that jazz that usually made things wide and lush. heres an example of what i mean http://www.yo...

Re: How To Make This Sound - August 2012

don't want to perfectly replicate the sound, just a certain aspect of it in NImassive if possible... its the higher frequency almost granular sounding texture to the bass in the intro to this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR0aCvQsdFA not the tutorial itself but the bass sound on the intro. I'v...

Re: What's your opinion on this?

This is getting fucking stupid. Learning music theory will make you a better composer. Period. If it's making your music robotic you haven't learned it well enough. no it wont, i simply don't agree. it's not personally making my music sound robotic I don't feel, at best it doesn't effect it at all....

Re: What's your opinion on this?

i don't think that asking people if they are happy with the investment they made is psychologically impirically sound. not many will say the thing i spent ten years working on and possibly thousands of pounds on was in fact a total waste of time even if it was. that doesn't add weight to the other ...

Re: What's your opinion on this?

yes too much quoting! lol when i said robert johnson invented music i wasn't being literal. i just meant to express my admiration for his contribution. i really like sea shanties, nd other folk music so i wasn't really doing down what came before. about the post on the poll: i don't think that askin...

lmao really? Atilla is being silly? Do you actually believe the shit you're saying or are you just spewing random shit out of your mouth to make yourself look like more of a moron? yes, please make some more personal attacks. they really help you to be more well reasoned First off, I have no idea w...

Re: What's your opinion on this?

Yeah I'd love to hear him share some names haha. I doubt there's one seriously notable western musician that doesn't know what a scale is. that's just silly now: jimi hendrix, john lennon, kurt cobain, robert johnson (the inventor of music) and on and on. don't assume that because an artist uses a ...

Re: Kind of a rant but not really...

I don't know, perhaps people don't have the patience for it or aren't natural teachers... computer music excites me, i love it and just want to tell people all about it. I love teaching noobs what i know. because also once i didn't know... I like doing it so much that this morning i taught my gf how...

Re: What's your opinion on this?

Sorry - but this is absolute crap. What statistics - care to share? sorry, perhaps a bad choice of words, what I meant to say was that the correlation is statistical in nature as opposed to necessary causal. I didn't mean to say I conducted a study on the subject, I've just noticed anecdotally that...

Re: What's your opinion on this?

as a person of reasonable training, (grade 6 piano, folk violin etc) i would agree with the OP. just in terms of statistics, the best musicians IMHO are almost always completely self taught, can't read music, don't really know what a scale is escept as to what sounds good. training is in some sense ...
