Re: 64 Bar Competition, any takers?
i'm sthinking smth like 64 thematic bars. so you have a point when you judge the tracks like who got closest to the theme.
I like the theme idea, also it would make the entries compare, like if tracks are all vastly different it would be easier to compare styles if it had a theme. Like tribal ...

Re: Remember...
It's not getting your music out there that's hard. It's making good music. If your music is truly good, getting "signed" or "recognized" is the easy part. Keep making better music and push yourself to be more original and creative, keep pushing the envelope of creativity and always remember that ...

I do security work at nights, come home, spend all the time I can on Ableton, then sleep, get up and go back to work. Repeat.

Re: Anyone used Kickstarter to get funding for production?
Why feel bad though? Someone who is in a similar situation to a lot of us (bedroom/amateur* producer) is using a resource for it's intended purpose - to get money to do something they want to do.
True. I wasn't meaning producers though.
I just hope that something terrible or harmful doesn't come ...

Re: [POLL]How much would/do you pay for your sample packs?
I've never bought a sample pack, but I would be happy to buy one for up to say £30, maybe £40 if it was real good and worth the money, but I haven't seen any I would be happy to spend that on yet - possibly due to not getting a full look at them? I've seen a few I'd spend less on though.

Re: Are you an artist?
Why do you all keep linking financial success to someone being an artist? That makes no sense to me, most things (in general) that make tons of money are watered down drivel. Good art usually pushes boundaries and is "edgy" and outside the mainstream...once it becomes too mainstream other artists ...

Projects out of reach
Alright guys, I was just wondering if anyone has - I would assume so - projects they would love to make, be it a conceptual EP about a given subject, or land, or a track etc etc. But haven't gone for it, or thought it impossible, or implausible - either to their skill level, or fearing they'd ruin ...

Only way I would support a artist on kickstarter is to help them fund getting their release.
