Re: Sound Cutting Off?
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to look into Voxengo Span for now to see if that can help me out with finding the proper frequencies for each sound.

Use that to structure your track gains correctly.
EQ each track to avoid clashing frequencies.
You can do this either by applying a peak boost on an eq and scrolling through the frequencies to hear where the individual tracks are hitting or ...

Re: Sound Cutting Off?
Are you talking about two sounds interfering with each other and the overall sound being lowered? This could be to do with phasing, phase cancellation will lower the over all level of the sounds involved. MAybe you are not EQing things so that they have space in the mix though.

Sound Cutting Off?
Not sure how to search for an answer to this since I'm not sure what the technical name for it is called, but I'm sure someone will know what I'm talking about.
I'm using FL Studio and I've noticed that in certain parts the sound will "get lower" as if two different instruments are conflicting with ...

Re: Ableton Producing No Sound
I've gone through everything you listed and still can't get it to work. The weird thing is though I can get sound when I'm playing in session view, so I'm assuming it's not the computer.
When I export the track, which is just a couple bars of bass, snare and hi-hat... I get no sound either when I ...

Ableton Producing No Sound
I switched to Ableton today after watching some tutorials on it and there's some particular features that I really like.
For some reason after I take a midi from session view to arrangement view I'm not getting any sound.
Yes I'v un-checked the "back to arrangment bar" and I've also tweaked many ...

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
Do your thing man. It's a long road.
IMHO it's a bit premature to be thinking about releasing your tracks after you have only been producing for three weeks. I'm going to have to agree with Paradigm X on this.
I know what you mean, but I think it's just my personality, it's the way I want to do ...

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
Changed my mind. I decided I don't care if people think my first songs aren't good. I enjoy them, as I enjoyed making them, and even though they aren't amazing I'm going to continue posting them as I make them. First song has been uploaded to Youtube, Soundcloud, and Myspace.

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
Thanks for all the great advice! After I trip to the gym and some thought I'm gonna wait till my songs are of better quality to start releasing them. I'm not gonna wait till they're "perfect" per say, but I'm gonna wait till I really feel that the time is right, and then I'm gonna try to get some ...

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
Could we possibly have a listen to one of your tunes?
I'll post some links after I get it uploaded later on in the week.
Everyone obviously dreams about a career in music but its not gonna happen unless your music is top notch...

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
The boat sailed 2 years ago? I guess you're trying to say Dubstep isn't going to be as popular in 5-10 years? Seems to me like it'll get even more popular over the next 3-5, and like there's plenty of room for a new artist to break in.

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
@Wub Thank you very much. I think you pretty much clarified what I was thinking. That the tracks don't have to stay up on youtube/soundcloud for forvever and as you said that becoming better at production and gaining more of a following goes hand in hand. So I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and ...

Re: Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
I assumed I'd get some responses like that, "oh just another one of those guys who thinks he's gonna make it big... one post wonder".
No, it's not like that. I've actually done shit with my life, self-employed at the age of 20... I don't sit around and dream... I do.

Should I Start Releasing Tracks Under My Alias?
