Re: about sub bass
Alright thanks for the input. It was more of a question of a synths audio engine quality. I mean, maybe its just me, but a sine coming out of massive doesn't sound the same to me as operator. Only reason I brought it up. I have seen tons of posts about how to make sub bass, but this was not one. So...

Re: about sub bass
As of right now I have used operator for the sub bass track of literally every track I have ever produced. I am working on mac with Ableton. I am pretty happy with the sound of operator, but I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion of anything they thought could potentially do the job any better ...

Re: mortal kombat samples and more
learn to use google and refine your searches to get the best results. this board in particular has been getting cluttered and going to shit as of late. or sample shit yourself like everyone else has already said. stop expecting others to do homework for you that you could easily do yourself, ffs.

Re: Instrument Rack - Chain Selector
I know how to do that already, sorry I wasn't clear. Basically the problem is say i move the chain selector from 30 to 75, i have to have a new note to trigger the change in the chain. I was wondering if there is a way to seamlessly transition from one sound to another in the chain while keeping a d...

Re: Free drum sample packs that aren't overly compressed
Thomas Penton - not unprocessed, but the hits are very clean and leave you a lot of room to sculpt your own sounds from them. A whole lot more bang for your buck than any of those bullshit vengeance/loopmasters/prime loops packs out there. As far as completely dry, unprocessed samples...you could tr...

Instrument Rack - Chain Selector
I've been wondering if there is a way, besides using the arpeggiator, to have it switch to another chain without being retriggered by a new note (ie I drone a C for 64 bars and can switch between the chains without having to a new note to trigger the new chain). The arpeggiator allows to have rapid ...

Re: That Noisia Reese (Neurofunk Bassline Tricks)
Hey guys i just found these 2 videos that show some tricks of the trade when it comes to making huge reese basslines found in Neurofunk! My question is how does a person take these recordings and make them into reesey bass bombs!!! A lot of those sounds are often layered with a reece or sub underne...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
8. Get better quick, or give up. 2013 is likely the end of the brostep sound and all the kids will probably go back to doing their drugs to new-hardstyle or shitmau5 or whatever the big promoters decide to put their weight behind. 2013 will be the year of brosteppish electro house. Just listen to t...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Rob Swire/Knife Party is talented, so is skrillex, I've never said anything against that. Anybody who does is just a purist/hipster. I'm not acting like it is going to go away, its a fad, it will. I never brought that up to be a dick, I'm just saying evaluate why you are making a certain sound. If y...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Here me out here because this might sound a little ridiculous! I made some interesting growls today using a vocoder, massive, distortion plugin and my mouth. I basically used a modern talking oscillator in massive with no modulation whatsoever.. I made growling sounds with my mouth, that sound more...

Re: Heavy(er) Wop Bass Help
1. Put one of your oscillators on modern talking and modulate the wavetable position using an envelope to taste, maybe layer with a saw for harmonics and a sin sub for power. 2. Add a bit of classic tube distortion to get things gritty. 3. I don't really know how you couldn't hear that, it's pretty ...

Re: 133 bpm for dubstep?
130-135 leaves a lot more room for swing/shuffle than 140, that's for sure. not saying 140 can't swing too, it's just better felt if slowed a few bpms. i think el-b may have said that in an interview somewhere, but i can't remember where
