Just wanted to share some gems I found a while back. Battery Acid is frekin massive distortion, really adds a lot of cool random elements to your synths. They are all also just hilarious and some of them are broken so use at your own ...

Re: Vocal effect like this
It sounds really saturated/compressed - A bit like this: http://youtu.be/LnqGoToS0J8
I feel like it's just a combination of the compression/saturation/distortion with some sort of autotune (Melodyne) to get the pitch bend effect.

Shouts to noways - he got it.
Collaboration is super powerful. I play in a couple bands and every time we jam or have a gig, new ideas come to me off tha hizzay. Whether it be in a jazz combo or in a punk band, playing with other people exponentially increases your experimentation and improves your ...

Stumbled across this species of music that reminded me of Autechre if they lived in a sewer like the ninja turtles but the year was 2313 and instead of pizza they lived off the last living subjects of human life. With a taste for their ears.

Re: Resampling - Why?
I didn't read all the posts here but I have a really simple technique. (for ableton live)
1. Insert MIDI notes to the instrument that you want to resample.
2. Freeze the track by right clicking and clicking on the "freeze track" option.
3. Create a new audio track.
4. CTRL drag the frozen midi ...

Re: Thumbs Up (for rock and roll) Intro
The first time I heard this I thought the intro was some extremely amateur kind of french house shit (until that lazOr synth comes in aha)

Hey guys I was wondering if you had any tips recreating this super percussive synth, it pretty much plays throughout the entire track.

Re: Ableton Live 8 MIDI Glitch
Hm, yeah the MIDI that wasn't giving me problems before ended in a pitch bend upward, but because I created a new MIDI track I thought that it would clear all envelopes.
I ended up just making a new track with the same synth and MIDI pattern and that fixed it. Thanks for your input(s) though.

Ableton Live 8 MIDI Glitch
Hey guys so I'm in the process of mastering this tune and there's this (what I can only assume to be) glitch.
I have about 3 basses layered on top of each other, all in different, independent tracks. Two of them are TAL Noisemakers and they are working just fine. The one that's giving me trouble is ...

Re: Fuckin Kicks...
Aside from picking the right kick or processing it correctly, fitting it in the mix well will make it stand out - perhaps focus on that.
Yeah I feel like you shouldn't judge your kick too hard until your mix rests nicely. Your kick might sound like its suffering because its having a lot of ...

Hey guys so I've been working on this tune for a bit and I've been trying to replicate that harsh distorted vocal effects used in a lot of "raunchy" (word used tentatively) blues/punk/rock
