Re: Producer Sessions Live 2013 (London SAE)

So not a single London based DSF gearhead/producer is remotely interested in checking this out and networking with other aspiring producers...

Re: Step up Sound Design Game

One thing to remember is don't always expect to design one ultimate patch that sounds amazing on its own. Lets say you create a mid-range sound that's nothing special, just go ahead and copy the mid-range patch to a new track and tweak it to a bass/sub version. Then copy the mid-range patch again ...

Re: Step up Sound Design Game

Something i've got planned for myself this weekend as a production drill is to write an entire track using only one synth for everything. I'll be using Ableton's Operator and will make a basic kick, hat, snare, pluck, pad, and bass then arrange a full track making whatever else I need along the way ...

Re: Adventure Club Crave You Remix Intro Synth

While we're on the topic of this track I have 2 questions...

1. How would you replicate the ghostly vocal that starts at 1:11 and 1:14 during the drop? (could be the word "I" reversed)
2. Do they use a noise gate to stutter the drop synths or is there some other method?

Re: Adventure Club Crave You Remix Intro Synth

mtl6 is spot on, its a simple arp pluck and there's lots of sound design tuts out there to show you how to make one. The important part though is Adventure Clubs use of automation on the volume level, Re-verb, and Filter. Pushing and pulling the arp fading it in and out during the musical phrase etc

Producer Sessions Live 2013 (London SAE)

Has anyone on DSF ever been to one of these events? It falls on my birthday weekend so thought I mite go check it out before drinking myself silly and winding up in an overly priced night club.

HELP! Treating Wet Vocals - Removing Echo

When working on vocal samples that have high re-verb and delay tails, are there any plugins or techniques that can be used to make the sample dry as possible?

Re: Soundcloud removing remixes?

So if sound cloud removes a remix is it purely down to the label/original owners requesting it to be taken down? If you made a Good remix like Doctor P - Bulletproof ft. Eva Simons (Kredo Bootleg Remix) it would be a shame to have no way of promoting it. Your not profiting from it anyways...

To OP: Before opening any threads always check the DSF google link as it will pull up all info on the subject if it has been asked before in the forum.

Re: comparison of VSTs in the context of ableton live

NI MASSIVE gets a lot of hate just simply because its so popular, but for the purpose of learning subtractive synthesis, getting use to using wave tables and modulating the sounds etc its actually a good choice because of the stupendous amount of info and tutorials floating about. First decide what ...

Re: i always get to a point that i dislike all my tunes :<

Your not alone in feeling that way. I was recently in a thread where people get sick of their tracks before even completing them. Always keep a log of your old stuff both good and bad so that you can measure your progress along the way. Continue to share your music and get feedback because that is ...

Re: Getting stuck while producing

Stuck how? Like sound design wise? Or writing making the bass work musically? A bit of Both, I can't seem to make a bass line that fits within the context of the song, if that makes sense. I get stuck in this spot with everything I write. I usually start out by producing a melody that I like, and ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@cmgoodman1226 - Your drum percussion elements are tight. Maybe experiment with different kicks to make sure they sound good on monitors as well as average headphones. I'm at work and the kick just feels a bit off on my headphones but i'll check again when I get home.

@Mark Ceresnik - Nice start ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

Just a quick thank you to everyone that gave me feedback. The advice was constructive and honest and that's of huge value to me. I made a few changes and called it a day on that track as it was sucking up too much time and felt "forced". I will take all the lessons learned from that and apply it to ...

Re: Ollie White - Sleep (Dubstep/Big synths)

Your productions good. Some of the big synths need to be tamed a little with some EQ and filter cutoffs but your arrangement, choice and placement of sounds is nice.
