Re: choir/chorus sounds
fragments makes a good point about freesound though, be creative! record yourself making some ooh and aah noises and map that to a sampler. I find the key to realistic sounds is a slow attack and long release so you get that natural decay. lots of reverb can help smooth it out.. layer with a nice pa...

Re: choir/chorus sounds
It seems like you have to pay for good voice sounds unfortunately. Kontakt + samples and you're adding up.. I use this: http://www.spectrasonics.net/products/legacy/symphonyofvoices.php Sounds amazing! But for the amount I use it the price probably isn't right. Still, need a nice sounding choir, loa...

Re: How to Become a SoundCloud Superstar, For real.
There was a thread that wub posted down the page somewhere about some guy who did exactly that, which I think sparked this thread. Where's the honour in buying plays? There is none.
This thread is pretty good though, legend4ry's post is worth hanging onto I think!

Re: How to Become a SoundCloud Superstar, For real.
On a side note, how important do you guys feel it is to stick to one genre or style when promoting yourself? I love all kinds of music and make all kinds of music, but I feel a bit like I should have one alias for dubstep, another for housey/technoey stuff, another for more chilled stuff.. does this...

Re: The Production Achievements thread
Not really production related, more music in general, but when I was 12 I played an ACDC/Metallica guitar solo medley on Irish national TV for a talent competition.. lost out to a yungwan singing the theme from Titanic. Fackin politics.. that's the way she goes. More recently, hit 10,000 listens on ...

Re: Equator D5 Monitors - High End on a Budget
Clarity in the deep bass isn't really that much of an issue either, it's just a matter of making sure it's tight and even. It's a lot easier to guess your way through than trying to eq 500-2khz for instance. I'd agree with this. I've got a sweet pair of Beyerdynamic cans and after listening to my f...

Re: Equator D5 Monitors - High End on a Budget
Sounds interesting, in the market for a new pair of monitors myself and this is exactly the sorta price range I'd be looking at. Don't even mind the lack of low end response, I've always found that much easier to do in headphones anyway. Nice wan, sound for the info!

Re: Milky - Primordial Sowce (Jurassic Park reesey dubstep)
Thanks man, I'm guessing you mean the bits without drums and bass, the kinda atmospheric bits? I love that kinda thing.. Reso is a master of it, and Billain on the faster DnB side of things..

Re: Milky - Primordial Sowce (Jurassic Park reesey dubstep)
Aye especially when there are so many midrange sounds involved. If you're interested here's a screenshot of the project http://i.imgur.com/8Lo9trP.png (I personally love looking at other people's projects..), just to show how all over the place it is. Nearly 90 channels and way over 100 samples/vsts...

Re: Milky - Primordial Sowce (Jurassic Park reesey dubstep)
Nice one! I think you may be right, everything needs a little bit more room but it's such a messy mix that it's difficult to get the balance right.. hoping to have this finished in the next few days so will keep working on bringing everything out a bit more. Thanks for listening though, glad you lik...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@chaotix: sweet tune! the vocal is perfect, feel like the whole mix could be a little bit brighter and maybe a bit heavier in the bottom as well. a good ol' smiley EQ! @mtl6: love a bitta reggae, but this needs moar bassweight. is that a straight sine you're using for the sub or..? could definitely ...
