Re: Ideas For a Newbee
What about this one mate? www.youtube.com/watch?v=41vqQlYDoHI It is really a Christmas-themed dubstep tune but apart from the intro it's suitable for all year round listening tbh Finally a real dubstep tune has been posted. The rest is just minimalistic crap that people pretend to like cause they'r...

Found the Mixer. Knowing who made it makes it easier. The BEHRINGER Europower PMH5000 http://www.behringer.com/assets/PMH5000_P0116_LeftPerspective_XL.jpg The drum pads are the Korg nanopad2 http://www.production-room.com/gfx/products/large/korg-nanopad---1_copy1.jpg And i think the secondary mixer ...

Re: Goth Trad Appreciation
The mixer is Behringer not sure about the model though. Majority of his tracks are broken down into their separate components i.e. percussion, drums, leads, bass within separate clips in ableton and he activates these from the drum pads. The mixer is to control all the separate components including...

Don't really know where to go from there. Are we talking about our outside influences here or what?

Ug, always hated the zoom controls in cubendo.... :( This is where knowing the program well comes in handy. You can create key commands and macros for zooming - zoom to selection, zoom to markers, select all + zoom out full(shows whole project with one key press), select all + zoom to one row etc. ...

Re: Recording poopy farts in a toilet bowl
I'd probably just record some impulse samples of the sink and a few different toilets and then record dry and find the best one in the mixdown stage. Some people would argue that takes the life out of it though and reduces the realism. Why has no one done an IR of someone shitting in a toilet bowl....

What's carbon? I have drum pad, is there a way to see if I'm hitting black keys? Dude you mean you don't have a keyboard with black keys? You should really look into buy one you can't expect to be taken serious with out one. Here are some ones I recommend. If you want something nice, on the lower p...

Honestly Benga and Skream have just been kissing Skrillexs ass along with the entire bro step community for a while, it is getting rather ridiculous. Even on Facebook Benga use to act like a 12 year old trying to defend Skrillex and fuck Skream he is the worst. Skream Has his head shoved so far up h...

Re: Goth Trad Appreciation
Yeah and you can see in front of the midi controller is another mixer I've seen this exact same setup in a lot of videos. But i have yet to figure out what each part is doing. In my mind I'm figuring that he has his set up to work like the Akai apc40 for Ableton. The giant mixer for greater detail/m...

Any one know his live set up? I know he DJ's off of Ableton but I'm curious as to how. I have been a few mixers and things like that. Is he just triggering pre-cut clips and mixing them together or what the fuck is going on?

I'm in school as well, and I will tell you the trick to producing and maintaining school. On your down time choose one or the other also a song usually takes more than a day to make so every time just work on a part a little more. Don't worry about the master focus on the Mix more to get a great sou...

Re: The line between raw and badly produced
I don't typically EQ hard or anything at all haven't been using compressors or limiters. I only use what I need to to get the sound I want. If I'm making a bass via constant re-sampling then yeah I will EQ certain sounds I don't want out. But not really compress or limit i just rather use standard s...

Re: gain structure and mixing aka THE MONEYSHOT THREAD
No, I get it, what I was saying is, macc has never seen a session of the guys who are big in EDM now, he is just giving his personal opinion on the correct traditional way of mixing. These posts are 2009, "dubstep" in 2013 is much different, those where still pre-Skrillex times. If you ar...

Re: "Panning" Drums (Emphasis on "")
The only time I have heard drums being panned(in a sweeping motion) is during a drum fill by some kind of metal/punk band that being said please don't pan your drums you retard it just doesn't work in electronic music. And please for the sake of all that is holy no drum fills either. Now slightly pa...

Yeah, I didn't consider that part, I feel stupid now. I was just reading the technology section and saw this and wondered why they're talking about soft synths like it's something new. Those Arturia plugins have probably been used on thousands of albums by now. You're a jerk for not wanting to supp...
