Re: Neuro bass patterns

Also, I'm guessing you bounce your basses to audio before chopping. Try this technique when doing so:
Create main bass track
Create sub bass track

Solo each one with whatever riff you decide on.
Make sure that each track is not clipping or peaking
Create a new Audio track and set it to resampling ...

I want to comment on your question by giving you the above example. I know it's a work in progress above, but the way I went about creating this song is by first starting with the arp beginning riff and then started to create drum patterns. By ...

Re: pitch bending in ableton

Create a new MIDI track - load up Sampler
Take the audio track of the pad you dig and drag/drop it into the Sampler window.

From there your possibilities become endless. Sometimes, it makes sense to EQ (harmonically) before you start drag/dropping and loading into Sampler.

If you need more help ...

Re: I Make BASS Thread

Here is a song I'm doing with the example I listed above - I'm using 2 different bass patches and process chains.

Re: I Make BASS Thread

Don't let my explanation fool you. When I say I create a sub along with my main bass in an ableton instrument rack - I'm only doing so to write out bass lines and to give the main bass just a little bottom end for multiband dynamics. I actually keep my sub on a separate channel

Re: I Make BASS Thread

In my opinion the fabfilter pro q is just an all around great plugin.

As for mapping to sweep the spectrum, it's easy if you know where you want/need to be (frequency ranges). A lot of people mess up by sweeping too hard. I hardly ever sweep a high cut. I'll sweep a bell boost or a notch ...

Re: thoughts/experiences w/ korg kaoss pad 3

In no way am I dissing korg or the KP3+ that I bought from them. But I just got one about 2 months ago and literally have not found a single use for it in any of my productions.

I'd love to hear how you guys are utilizing it and routing it into your sessions.

I Make BASS Thread

Alright guys and gals,

I thought it would be cool to see what everyone's favorite method of creating bass is. This is intended to give "newbies" a shot at asking questions and of course seeing how we dubstepforum people do what we do (as a resource).

I will kick this off with a simple process I ...

Re: Your Favorite effects?

Oh, sausage fattener by dadalife

And yes, MakO did do an interview with Luke and totally spoiled the usage of linear EQ.

That is nothing new. just a creative way of incorporating the technique into his music.

SAME SHOULD GO FOR EFFECTS!

Re: Making sounds flow together nicely?

OK cool disregard the above message, I didn't realize I already responded to this post.

Also, that's really cool with the Flux interview! I'm telling you - ITS THE WAY TO GO!

SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE!

And I think I know where another poster was going with focusing on a core sound. You definitely can ...

Re: Making sounds flow together nicely?

I'd say it's because when you are using completely different patches and for probably an entire drop you're alternating them consistently (I've seen up to 30-40 different tracks) you will have a hard time staying consistent in sound.

It's all about your bass processing. Really. There are so many ...

Re: Your Favorite effects?

I have to agree with what a lot of people are saying here. Basically there are few extremely useful plug ins out there. I personally, can only name a few that are absolutely a must for my productions. Everything else is sort of marketed to people that think they are going to get that "exact sound ...

Re: How can I bounce stems to WAV in ableton?

I've always been told to center everything. If it is in stereo you're cool. But for mono sounds you would want them centered before bouncing to wav

Usually when I get my songs mixed and mastered by someone else that's always what they request. Usually the centering adjustment is really so whoever ...

Re: How can I bounce stems to WAV in ableton?

Simple,

Many reasons and ways are possible. Resampling is one technique to stem audio.

But if you are sending off for professional mixing for someone using a different DAW, the best way to get those stems is to bounce the track down to WAV but instead of having it on the master - change that to ...

Re: Making sounds flow together nicely?

AGREE WITH ALL POSTS AFTER MINE. I failed to mention it is easier and more cohesive when you create a single GREAT/BIG sounding sound and when layering maybe toss a 2nd Oscillator on with pitch bend, tremolo, distortion, etc.

Great catch and good call by all!

Re: Making sounds flow together nicely?

OK. I had this same problem and I will try to explain as best I can.

When starting a track (depending on how you start your tracks ie- I like to start with a simple beat), you want to bring in an instance of let's say Massive. Load up a sine wave or if you have sub bass presets made use that ...
