Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Haven't made too many contributions lately aside from my opinion, so here is a new reese like thingy I've been working on. Can't quite get some unique context yet but I've started using foley sounds on top of reese's and I'd like to think I'm getting some interesting results. https://soundcloud.com...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Here's a clip with the various processing turned on gradually, and the numbers represent each step here https://soundcloud.com/blinkesko/pukedabassdawg/s-jBRsn 1) The original reese 2) Some camelphat to beef it up more and a wow filter that is set to comb, where the cutoff is automated http://imgur...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

My advice would be don't go for anything that remotely resembles vomit. Why do you need the dirtiest, ugliest sound possible? That sounds just fine. The musicality comes from the notes you play and the arrangements you use anyway. Yeah, but I'm into stuff like that. :corndance: I just need processi...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

So I made a thing: https://soundcloud.com/squidbot/reese/s-vMkHi The first sound has no added Unison. The second one does. My question: Which should I build off of, why, and how? second one sounds better, more bass-y to me. you want to do more processing? it sounds pretty solid as it is, I don't se...

Re: The Official FM8 Growl Thread

I'm kind of sad because all I have is Sytrus :( I think we can afford to speak in general terms, since FM synthesizers are similar to an extent. For instance, It seems as though A sine wave is the foundation of most good FM synths. A plethora of other waves are fed into it, but the sine is the hub....

Re: The Official FM8 Growl Thread

Can we just take a moment to remember that this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWIJUTKw6n0

is the only reason we have Feed Me.

I Think that this thread should explore more than just normal dance music (Zomboy, Feed Me, etc) because there's just so much more to be learned.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Serious question, and I probably passed over it in the thread, but: How do you get those neuro-style stabs like in Distantia by Mefjus (which have a higher end) or other stabs that seem to have a lot of low end (like the ones after 44 seconds of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDTnYTF_lDo)...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

I might as well add something to the thread while I'm here, so here's some of the reeses I've made recently. No verb or anything on them yet, not any foley layered either, that'll have to wait till they're in a tune, haha. https://soundcloud.com/blinkesko/somereesus/s-5RPf9 EDIT: Click the soundclo...
