What are y'all listening for when you cut your mix like this? Like what are you hearing in the filtered state, that you are not hearing in the full mix?

Something i have been messing around with lately while mixing is keeping an eq on my master buss and from time to time listening out to only specific frequency ranges to see how they compare to my reference tracks. For example highpassing at 500hz will emulate a very trebly playback ...

for me its smiley face eq centered at 5k and notching out a bit of 1-2k with about 3db compression is usually the setting i end up with, but i mostly use claps for house but im guessing it would be similar for dubstep. I kind of try to copy what calvin harris's claps sound like, love his claps

wow that sounds fattt, i honestly have nothing to criticize tbh, only thing i would say is you added slightly too much high freq (in the mastering stage?), but maybe that's just a case of preference, it sounds really nice!

Not too bad mate! Quite like the subtle 'liquid wobble'. Keys and stuff all work well together. Liking the vocal too - where's it from?

One thing I reckon would add to the track would to maybe have a kick/snare build up to the drops. Other than that it sounds decent to me! :W:

Basses sound really fat, very nice, but maybe there is just too much reverb, i would suggest reducing the amount of reverb and add some hihats/percussion and the song seemed to lack it

very nice stuff, interesting choice of samples, kept it interesting to listen to. Towards the end i felt the wobble bass was just a little too full on, but maybe that's just me!

Really like the choice of sounds, especially the percussion with the delay, i only remember only in 1 or 2 places the delay was slightly messy with the increased arrangement, but probably automating the delay wet knob should sort that out. Really nice to listen to though!
