Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Hey!
I've got something to give you! :) So recently I've been making a lot of growls and I made one now that I want to give you. Its nothing special, just a basic fm8 growl. I doesn't sound like SeamlessR or anything like that though. It's made in Fm8, and is the further processed by a phaser and EQ ...

What did i say?OmegaMode wrote: I will say this, a still PHASER is the trick. Modulating the frequency inside it to match the growls vowels will give you the full sound of the hollow sounding "Oouuuuughhh" vowel that Barely Alive does.

Re: What I've learned about making growl/wowel basses
Hey just reporting in!
Phasers are essentially just notching the sound. Try mimicking the phaser with an EQ then modulation one or two of the notches. That usually sounds really cool.
MM :dunce:
The god is back! Haha, jk! I knew that you guys used phasers on your growls! Thanks for you ...

Re: What I've learned about making growl/wowel basses
Just want to give the flanger a shoutout, I use FL's stock flanger and the flangus plugins to get these kinda sounds

Also try throwing on a fruity chorus and turning the delay to the minimum, works wonders in certain situations.
